  1. Women masturbate too, apparently.
  2. Fiona Bruce is an ambassador for REFUGE, a charity that helps victims of domestic abuse. Oops !
  3. I can't put my finger on it, but I am sure there is a theme in here somewhere; a narrative that you feel is of some importance and that you are trying to put over to a wider audience.
  4. And Final Score. I am waiting to find out whether Radio 5's programming might be affected.
  5. Football Focus will not be broadcast today, it will be replaced by an episode of Bargain Hunt. ( Is that a documentary on Saints' recent recruitment strategy ? ) Jason Mohammad has said he will not present Final Score. ( Edit: this appears to now have been replaced with an edition of The Repair Shop ).
  6. 1) The 'boat people' are about 5% of immigrants to the uK. They are not 'jumping the queue', but are held in what are colloquially themed Detention Centres. 2) It seems that it is not the rule that you have to seek asylum in the first 'safe' country you reach. 3) Some schools in London and the other metropolis' can already have upwards of 40 different languages spoken by their pupils.
  7. Surely the correct way to deal with language issues is to speak English VERY SLOWLY AND WITH YOUR VOICE RAISED.
  8. Up to press; no presenters, no pundits no commentators, no post match interviews. This is going well.
  9. He didn't make a comparison with a regime that killed 6 million Jews and triggered WW2. I know it is a semantic point, but he made a comparison with Germany in the early years of the NSDAP Government - a Government that was elected democratically, ( with the aid of a bit of gerrymandering ), and once in power started to slowly change the Political landscape by controlling the media and manipulating public opinion. He was not inferring that he thought the current UK Government was on the path to a potential future genocide, just that some of their current actions appear to mirror similar acts in Germany in the early 1930s. In it interesting that many people in Germany seem to agree with him.
  10. If GL had said what he said whilst in the pub, rather than putting it on Twatter, would the reaction have been the same ? Or are all BBC empoyees not allowed to ever hold or reveal their personal opinions ?
  11. Would GL have been sidelined if he had tweeted that the Government's plans were a "bloody good idea" ?
  12. The Rwanda scheme is not intended to "process" their applications, it is a one way ticket at the end of which Rwanda will decide if the migrants will be accepted to live in Rwanda. Interestingly, the agreement with Rwanda states that the UK agrees to accept from Rwanda a number of that country's own refugees; From the Memorandum of Understanding, "16 Resettlement of vulnerable Refugees 16.1 The Participants will make arrangements for the United Kingdom to resettle a portion of Rwanda’s most vulnerable refugees in the United Kingdom, recognising both Participants’ commitment towards providing better international protection for refugees."
  13. FYI: "Up North" is not the middle of nowhere. It is very nice, and in so many ways much better than "down South".
  14. Just for etymological clarification: "Nazi" is an old German term to describe slow witted peasants/yokels.
  15. But we can spend multi- millions trying to send a couple of hundred to Rwanda.
  16. Didn't Nige warn us that 77 million Turks were waiting to come here ? That was in 2016, so the population has probably increased since then. If people believed him then, they will believe Cruella now.
  17. I wonder if she saw that coming ?
  18. If we let in 437 thousand legally each year, it is more than a new Southampton that is needed.
  19. I entirely in agreement with you, but I don't trust Politician's Promises. Particularly when they are talking about things planned for at least 20 years hence.
  20. How are the 437 thousand paid for ?
  21. There is a very long and convoluted road between signing an agreement in a principle and laying a keel, ( or however you start constructing a nuclear submarine ), especially as there will be multiple elections and changes of political direction in all 3 countries involved in the intervening years. This "good news" may simply be just another example of "jam tomorrow". When I can stand on our sea wall and see the new ships sailing out into the bay I will know it has actually come to pass.
  22. Soggy, they want to play their childish playground game, based on a deliberately misinterpreted phrase, because it deflects their own opinions.
  23. Yet the thing that is overwhelming our domestic services are the 30k or so crossing the channel in boats.
  24. The deal seems to be that Australia will buy 3 American subs in a few years time. In a parallel stream, the UK and Australia will begin design work on a new class that will start construction in the late 2030s and enter service in the mid 2040s. That is hardly going to guarantee jobs in Barrow over the next 15 years or so.
