  1. It shows you don't need to buy a new car to comply, which seems to be a common gripe.
  2. My car is 8 years old, has a 2 litre engine, and is exempt for all ULEZs currently in operation or scheduled to be introduced
  3. If he thinks he can make plenty of money from doing so, and can fabricate enough convincing lies, he would probably give it a go.
  4. Why is a bowler who delivers the ball at over 90mph pitching it short to the tailies ? Have they forgotten what the stumps are there for ?
  5. Can you help me with a problem ? I want to set up an alert system whereby I get a notification whenever a certain poster puts up a new item. I know you have it configured for following SOG, so could you advise me how to do it ? Ta.
  6. Not cheesecake ?
  7. Oppenheimer is excellent.
  8. This is not a condemnation of any political party but of the "system" as a whole. As with the case of the man who spent 17 years in prison for a rape he did not commit; if you are wrongly imprisoned but eventually get your conviction quashed, you can apply, quite rightly, for compensation. However, the Prison Service will petition for that money to be reduced as they will claim a share for 'board and lodgings'.
  9. This is all well and good, but what about the Otherkins and Therians ? https://www.vice.com/en/article/mvxgwa/from-dragons-to-foxes-the-otherkin-community-believes-you-can-be-whatever-you-want-to-be

    Russia

Defence in depth based on heavy deployment of mines will stop anything making a rapid advance. The thing Ukraine is short of is equipment to cut paths through the minefields; there are reports that the Russians have been laying stacks of anti-tank mines, 4 or 5 on top of each other, which means that where the Ukrainian army does deploy mine clearing machinery, designed to resist the explosion of single mines, the force is multiplied and thereby knocks the mine sweeper out of action. Cheap, effective defence, which mitigates the lack of training of the mobilised Russian conscripts, and plays to the strengths of Russia's most effective weaponry, it's artillery.
  12. Simply re-inventing/re-purposing anti torpedo nets, which navies around the World started using before WW1, whether strung on outriggers from the side of warships or floating from bouys and booms across harbour entrances.
  13. Does he have a login on SWF ?
  14. He arouses a response from me, along the lines of "What the fuck have you done to Star Wars ?".
  15. The Law says that the threshold for automatic refusal of entry is to have received a 12 months sentence, which he did not get, so this was an extraordinary personal intervention by the Home Secretary, who has failed to give any justification for her decision. But it does help her image in certain parts of the media.

  17. Boris Johnson, Keir Starmer, Jimmy Saville......,.all in open debate in the HoC.
  18. I wonder whether there are members on the Government front bench looking enviously at Netanyahu's latest fit of pique.
  19. Of course they are, and Deutsche Bank have gone bust and the German car manufacturers are so desperate for British business they are still trying to smash down the Chancellor's office door.
  20. So now she has managed to stop one bloke on a plane perhaps she might try to work out how to actually stop small boats crossing the Channel.
  21. I swear the IMF start each month by rolling a dice to find out what figure they will put in their next forecast.
  22. £1m these days would probably buy his right foot.
  23. I know there are too many ground vying for the tests, but London always gets 2, one because "it's Lords, innit", and one because the ECB conceded a very advantageous deal for The Oval. Maybe there should be an agreement that OT and Headingly alternate, also Edgbaston and Trent Bridge, and every so often the Oval is dropped in favour of the Ageas. Saying that Trent Bridge is a 'northern' venue is ludicrous, Nottingham is nearer to Southampton than it is to Newcastle.
