It's not a windy day in Blackpool unless the spray from the waves breaking over the prom is hitting the third floor windows of the Tower building. On just such a day we came into our 2nd floor office one morning to find the slates from the roof of the building opposite, level with our windows, had blown across the road and straight through the newly installed double glazing.

I have no idea as to the highest temperature I have experienced, but I have been out in -27C.

I refer colleagues to Weston's latest post on the Hampshire Cricket thread, giving the MCC's statement on the end of the match.

We haven't actually sent anybody yet. ( Don't think we ever will ). -
True, but that doesn't bother the headline writers of the Fail or Torygraph.

All cars have windows that wind down, don't they ?

But the majority, including yours, do.

And fuelling a nonsense argument purely for the potential for controversy.

If that is what you have then you should have qualified your statement. However, I am tempted to do a Ducky and call 'Pony', but as I am a generous soul I'll give you the benefit of the doubt 😉

Re (2) yes, with the engine running and pumping out more pollution and greenhouse gases.

An ex England captain should respect the judgement and decisions of the match officials.

The Playing Conditions for the T20 Blast only say that the field for a free hit should remain unchanged unless, (1) the no-ball was originally called for an illegal field or, (2) the batsmen somehow crossed and are oppositely handed. The wicket keeper is also permitted to change from "stood up" to "stood back". There is no mention of a sanction should such a change not be noticed, unless the change results in an illegal field placing, ie not enough fielders inside the circle.
-
Just to be clear, on the 'wrong' field being set for the no-ball on the last ball; there is no penalty if the field is incorrect, it is simply up to the umpires to check the field is the same before allowing the game to proceed. Therefore, it would NOT have been a second no-ball.

The Hampshire fielders were pointing up at the big screen and telling the batsman that he had hit the ball.
-
Wasn't there a 7 ball over towards the end of Surrey's run chase to beat Yorkshire last week, where they scored off the 7th ball. Why don't Hampshire get in the media complaining that the umpires got THAT wrong ? Regardless of field placings, where it appears the umpires may have got 1 ball wrong in each innings, there is no way you can run 2 to the keeper, especially after the non-striker has gone 10 yards past the stumps running the first, and the keeper has run to the stumps with the ball as he did so. The second "run" would have been the easiest run out in history had they attempted it.

Are we the best team at defending in T20 cricket ?
-
Perhaps, but Duckie cries 'Pony' as a defensive / denial tactic more often than not.
-
Has 1 Wheal over cost Hants the game ?
-
Hants have the ability to defend this, but evrybody will need to stay focussed.
-
You often do, generally because you are insecure with facts.

Only McDermott making a go it.

"Up to.....", one of the most useless terms in the English language. What he is saying there may be none, may be 200, may be 1000, or in a worst case disaster scenario we might approach 10k. Talk about hedging your bets, he will find it difficult to be proven wrong.
