  1. Some people argue that if a person of colour raise his/her fist it is anti-racist but if a caucasian does it it is racist. Historically Black Power salutes have always been interpreted as political gestures. To an extent it is a question of personal interpretation and opinion - if you disagree with me that's fine.
  2. Is this an anti-racist statement ?
  3. Surely that is a political gesture and therefore against the FA rules, as with Guardiola being sanctioned for wearing a yellow ribbon in support of Catalan independence.
  4. The Donald is still at it. At a rally in Georgia ahead of the Senate runoff elections, which will decide control of the Senate, he told attendees, ( no masks or social distancing ), that if the Georgia Governor had any idea as to how to do his job he would overturn the election result, ( already signed off and certified ), and declare the state for Trump. He repeated all the lunatic conspiracy theories about the election being "rigged", and despite his claims about the electoral system urged his supporters to vote,"or else the communists", ( the Democrat candidates), "will win". ( Of course, if the system is rigged then there is no point in Republicans voting ).
  5. Exactly.
  6. What's with ManU's kit ? Bloody awful.

  8. Well that's where GM lives.
  9. Well that rules you out !
  10. You do realise the Empire has been consigned to history ? And whilst we're at it, how's your pal Trump going on ? Nobel Peace Prize - as Jim Royle would put it, "My arse".
  11. How is that prediction regarding Deutsche Bank holding up ?
  12. Yep, that makes sense. Shun the massive market 22 miles away and go chasing one on the other side of the planet.
  13. I listen to music every day, but don't feel the need to post everything I listen to. If you are interested, yesterday whlst working in my workshop I listened to "Dance of Death" by Iron Maiden and some New Order, the day before Metallica's "Black Album" and "And Justice For All". In the last few weeks I have also played The Clash, Imagine Dragons, Tears for Fears, Kate Rusby, Genesis, Shinedown, Queens of the Stone Age, Beautiful South, Talking Heads, Santana, and more. I also, on occasion might listen to Classic FM, or perhaps a top level brass band, ( all 3 of my children have played in National Championship winning bands ).

So what " rule" were they proving an exception to ?

So why respond to ECUK's calling out of your "sweeping statement" with "Fair play, there is always an exception that proves every rule." ?

So you could have said 'some', but no, you came out the standard bland right w(h)inger stereotypical assertion, to contrast with your opening phrase "That's the thing about the private sector, managers are prepared to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in to get the job done", which might easily, ( and more accurtaely ), have also included 'some', but that wouldn't suit your pathetic agenda bias.

Yet again you are incorrect - on the matter of your being as dim as you sometimes appear, unless you are willing to retract your arrogant slur on Public Sector managers.

Perhaps Buctootim is right, and you really are as dim as you sometimes appear. That statement is incorrect and insulting.
  20. Another conspiracy theory on Twitter :- CoViD-19 is selectively targetting Republican members of Congress as compared to Democrats. ( Absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Dems take it seriously and mask up, whilst Reps congregate en masse and shun sensible precautions ).
  21. I suppose ignoring the fact that the EU is a single trading bloc helps, ( US=£182m total trade, EU=£615m ). 😉
  22. The thread title is 'Things that are racist' and doesn't present a geographical limit. The Equalities Act 2010, sections 158 & 159. ( https://www.xperthr.co.uk/faq/what-positive-action-is-permitted-under-discrimination-legislation/103008/ ; Section 159 of the Equality Act 2010 allows an employer to treat an applicant or employee with a protected characteristic (eg race, sex or age) more favourably in connection with recruitment or promotion than someone without that characteristic who is as qualified for the role. )
  23. Georgia recount complete, Biden wins, ( again), so the "fraud" is perpetuated. ( Both Biden and Trump lost a few votes ).
  24. The people giving evidence to the committee were the hauliers and the software companies developing the front end systems interfacing to CDS. The IT companies said that HMRC were only reluctantly releasing necessary information for them to design systems around.
