I think the point is that the UK Government has been bullish about the prospects of the financial services sector post-Brexit, whilst all along they would have known the possibility of the NY agreement was looming like the threat of the Tirpitz heading for PQ-17.

I did the usual thing of skipping to the end to see if the story was worth persisting with. TBH it wasn't. 😉

The PIP process is grossly mismanaged, from the client perspective, but I am sure it makes Capita's bosses a lot of money. The appeal went to Court, and lasted less than 3 minutes, long enough for the DSS to admit their "errors" and the claimant's payments retored to the previous level. The main bone of contention was that the process is geared to physical impairments rather than mental health. Asking somebody with Bulimia or Anorexia whether they are able to prepare food misses the point as to whether they are capable of eating correctly. Asking somebody with a history of self harm as to whether they know how to handle a knife borders on sheer bloody lunacy !

The fact that the EU is having issues is not an indication of a benefit to the UK from Brexit, and it is more than disingenuous for certain posters to claim it is.

We are out of the EU, there is no need to keep trying to justify that decision. You are demonstrating a very worrying obsession.

As has been stated before, the UK was always able to do it's own thing with vaccine procurement, and could have done so without Brexit. Nothing in the EU's laws and procedures prohibited this.
