  1. For a club that apparently has ambition, how on Earth would Giggs, Howe, or even Martinez be the next step forward ?
  2. What a load of tripe.

  4. If we do get a new manager then we are just putting ourselves in the same position as the other teams chasing the EPL title next season; Man Utd, Man City, and Chelsea.
  5. Gove again trotting out the £350m figure - it was a lie a month ago, it is a lie tonight, and it will continue to be a lie every time the Brexiteers quote it.
  6. How on earth do they kepp getting away with the cr@p they spout ?
  7. That would do it for me.
  8. Standard bullsh!t election blather.
  9. When exactly was the last verifiable 'meltdown' ?
  10. You're probably the only one on here I'd expect to try it ! https://www.strava.com/routes/458089
  11. The Navy's emphasis for gunnery was on 'rate of fire' rather than pure accuracy, and each main gun shell required 4 bags of cordite, ( each approx 270 lbs for 13.5" main guns), which had to effectively be hauled up 4 storeys from the magazines each time a gun was reloaded, so each turret needed to move 8 bags every 30 seconds ( for 'rapid fire' ), in addition to the shells themselves. In 1913 the RN increased the amount of ammunition that was to be carried on the Battleships and Battle-Cruisers, such that it could not all be stored in the magazines, so such short cuts were tolerated. ( see http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/331-loss-of-the-british-battle-cruisers/ )
  12. Once I get as far East as the A6, there isn't any more flat. My 56 yo knees complain a bit on the 'up's, but my boyish bravado enjoys the 'down's. There are 2 really long descents on that route, and on relatively empty roads speed is easily built up and maintained. However the second one has one major issue, two thirds of the way down there is a crossroads, and as you are on the minor road, you need to remember to brake !!! There is a set ride up here called the Bowland Badass, I've ridden about 80% of the route, ( accumulated over several rides I have to admit ), the only bits I've not done are the 2 biggest climbs, but hopefully I'll get them done soon. ( There's no way I'd try it all in one go ).
  13. Most of them, on both sides.
  14. So that's what BoJo has on his head !
  15. Just imagine you are a lookout on the lead German battleship, and as your ship emerges from a bank of mist you see the British Grand Fleet, ( which you believe to be still in port ), arranged in line, stretching directly across your course from one edge of the horizon to the other. At that moment you probably realise that victory is not an option.
  16. Is that taken from a quotable official source, or just brexiteer wishful thinking ?
  17. Today's little excursion; http://app.strava.com/activities/592224585
  18. So that would be post Brexit then ?
  19. If the EU maintains the same position with a 'Brexit'ed UK as it does with other peripheral countries we would not have control over EU immigration, as has been mentioned several times. Where is the evidence from the Brexit campaign that we would be guaranteed to be treated differently to the EEA countries ?

  21. I put Win10 on my laptop, and 3 days later reverted to Win7. Despite the 'wizard' saying that my hardware was perfect for the upgrade, the graphics hardware proved not to be, and as I use the system primarily for gaming, it made it effectively unuseable. I've now stopped the upgrade notification and blocked the patch that triggers it.
