Get's him in the country - why did Tevez go to Wet Sham ? As for the game, first goal unfortunate, second poor positioning by KD and why was someone as short as Punch on the end of the wall ? Third was down to Fox, and as I'm typing this another deflection FFS. What's our worst defeat in the Prem ? I know the 7-0 & 8-0 but were they in the old Div 1 ?

Well that, at least, makes me feel so much superior to you then ! We used to regularly go riding, and kept my children's ponies in the back garden.

Basketball and baseball.

Will watch the Open and the Masters, but otherwise golf has very little appeal for me, tennis is a major no-no, and F1 is not as essential as it used to be, ( probably due to half the races not being live on terrestrial TV ). I am, however, enjoying having so much cycling available to watch, both road and track racing.

Go to Fratton Park ?

PST BID ON TRACK AND WITH ADMINISTRATOR PST's bid to buy Portsmouth Football Club is with Administrator Trevor Birch and still on course to be successful. But in a move welcomed by PST, Mr Birch has given both the Trust and rival bidder Portpin additional time to finalise their bids, notably to satisfy the Football League on a number of issues. 'We have said all along that our bid is robust and credible, and the best option for the creditors and the football club,' said Colin Farmery spokesperson for PST 'To all intents and purposes our bid is submitted but, given Pompey's recent history, we fully understand and support the need for this process to be as thorough as possible and welcome this decision by PKF. We will continue to work to the timetable set out by the administrators. 'We are pleased that Trevor Birch thinks we are capable of concluding a deal and will work round the clock to agree and finalise the deal as soon as we can. 'In the mean time we would urge all Pompey fans who are able to attend the match at Fratton Park against Walsall on Saturday and give Michael Appleton and the team their full support,' he added.

Do you mean that Frattoniser is Frattonising ?

I think at present it's just Portpin, but the PST bid is pending.

Many years ago we purchased a legitimate copy of some software on 3&1/2 inch discs, ( remember them ? ), direct from the software house. These discs carried a virus that erased computer hard drives, and which was traced back to the disc manufacturing plant. -
I think there are potentially 3 main areas that need to be 'reviewed' : 1) The inquest verdicts, which I think is possibly the main priority for the families - strike out the 'Accidental Death' verdicts and reconvene a Coroner's Court where the possibility of 'Unlawful Killing', or whatever other options are available, can be determined, especially on those victims that died after 15:15 pm. 2) Charge the implicated senior Police officers with perverting the course of justice. I think the actions of South Yorks Police to refer themselves to the PCC is the first step in this process. 3) Investigate the liabilities for negligence under the H&SE requirements, as it seems clear that much of the infrastructure in the stadium was known to be inadequate.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-19582072 "Richard Wells, who led South Yorkshire Police from 1990 to 1998, said charges were "absolutely essential" after a damning report into the tragedy." "Mr Wells said police forces across Britain had "a culture of authoritarianism, defensiveness [and] excessive secrecy" at the time of the disaster." "The current chief constable of South Yorkshire David Crompton said if the law was broken, there should be charges......My position is a very simple and straightforward one, which is that if people have broken the law then they should be prosecuted," he said "It doesn't make any difference whether they're a police officer or anybody else."

If that's the reason for his apparent outlook on life then why am I such a ray of sunshine ?

As they've "agreed" the CVA I think they have no further say in the matter.

Depends on your perspective, but bussing the Met Police SPG into mining villages because the Government felt the local force might be 'too soft' on the strikers does seem to indicate a certain agenda - and before you ask I actually saw them parked up in lay byes in their minibuses.

I think the problem with the Sun sits squarely with Kelvin McKenzie, who by all accounts went against the advice of his journos and sub-editors and redrew the front page with that fateful exclamation. The guy would have sold his mother if he thought it would increase circulation, and lets be honest, there are parts of the UK population who are quite willing to accept as gospel anything that paints Liverpool in a bad light or appears to confirm a stereotype.

And this is exactly where the Police failed.

"116 of the 164 police statements submitted after the disaster were "amended to remove or alter comments unfavourable to South Yorkshire Police."

The PM says the report is "black and white" in concluding "Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster".

From the BBC live news feed Breaking News The report states that some individuals who died at Hillsborough could have had reversable asphyxia. It says it is highly likely what happened after 15:15 BST was "significant in determining how they died".

Lack of stewards, inadequate or non-existent signs, no police radios allowing those in control to understand what was happening, it's all in the Taylor Report, along with a note of a recommendation that the pen capacity actually be reduced because the crush barriers were not up to standard. An analysis by the H&SE worked out that there were fewer people in that end than claimed, it was just that they all ended up being herded into the same place.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/exclusive-hillsborough--police-did-doctor-evidence-in-bid-to-avoid-blame-8126233.html "The Independent has obtained four previously unpublished witness statements written by police constables, who were all on duty at the Leppings Lane end on the disastrous day of Liverpool's FA Cup semi-final with Nottingham Forest in 1989. They show how the documents, originally prepared for an internal inquiry, were altered prior to Lord Taylor's official inquiry later that year to ensure that South Yorkshire Police emerged from the tragedy in a significantly more positive light."

Appy doesn't think that 'The Kids are Alright', not even to be a 'Substitute'. And we'll have to wait and see if after their one month contract is up the players are able to say 'I'm Free'.

One of my favourite all time series. Enjoy.
