  3. http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/statement-of-fact-to-the-court Not sure what they hope to acheive, but this is getting linked around several Championship club discussion boards. Mind you, some of the publicly made comments are also to be found on certain walls of the school that KOKO's sons attended. ( Living and working in Blackpool, in an office with several ST holders, and fomerly working at Bloomfield Road, I have a passing interest in proceedings ).
  4. I think they're after the forum because it refused to identify the real identities of certain posters.
  5. There is unlikely to be much on BHS about Koko or Daddy Oyscum that isn't legally true.

  7. Surely it's the same for the teams immediately below us - we don't need a points target, we just need to keep ahead of the pack.
  8. I don't think we were as poor as some on here do; we were a couple of inches away from taking a lead into half time when Jose hit the bar, and might have been 2 up if Mane's chip over Green hadn't drifted wide of the open net. I thought that for at least the first 60 minutes the defence and midfield were in control, we just lacked clarity of thought and coolness in application when we got to their penalty box. On the balance of play I think we deserved the 3 points.
  9. He certainly should be able to collect that sort of high ball without his feet leaving the ground.
  10. We deserved that.
  11. From the BBC live text : "45:00 +5:01 Eljero Elia (Southampton) wins a free kick in the attacking half. 45:00 +5:01 Foul by Richard Dunne (Queens Park Rangers)." That doesn't get anywhere near describing events !

  14. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/charge-people-making-appeals-against-decisions-to-withdraw-benefits-leaked-document-reveals-9142783.html "Disability minister Mike Penning last week told MPs the scale of appeals - around 600,000 since its introduction - meant there was “real concern” about the work being carried out. The new proposals are particularly worrying given that anyone wanting to appeal a decision that they are fit to work first has to have all their paperwork looked at again, while receiving no sickness benefits. The Citizens Advice Bureau believes this will result in thousands of people being wrongly forced to survive on no income at all." "Rachel Reeves, the shadow work and pensions secretary, accused the government of presiding over a “broken” benefits system. She said that 58 per cent of appeals against DWP decisions to withdraw jobseekers allowance are upheld." Makes you wonder about the efficacy of the original assessments.

  16. Cycle lanes are often more dangerous as their surface breaks up because it's just a smear of red tarmac over a standard pavement, and they can be "shared space" with pedestrians, who don't mix well with road bikes @ 20+ mph. They're a nightmare on dustbin collection day. The worst ones I've come across run on the road surface, in the opposite direction to the motorised traffic on one way streets, with just a painted white line segregating the cyclist from tons of steel approaching head on.

  18. As for the front light, riding on unlit country roads, ie no pavement or kerb, requires a strong light - but one that is angled slightly towards the left, so as to highlight the verge. As for "blinding drivers", too many of them blind me because their lights are badly adjusted or they're driving Chelsea Tractors, so quid pro quo. ( And remember, a large proportion of adult cyclists are drivers as well, so know both sides of the argument ).
  19. A rear reflector is a legal requirement, as are reflective panels on the pedals - makes all of us riding with cleats illegal
  20. It's not just the iron work, the road surface itself tends to be more potted, and there's all the detritus in the gutter just waiting to ***** it's way through your inner tube. I ride at least a foot away from the edge of the road whenever possible I have 3 rear lights 2 of which are set to flash, ( plus the obligatory reflector ), and the 'searchlight at the front, together with 2 small flashing LEDs. No chance of a 'SMIDSY'. As for other idiot bikers, last week, riding home in the dark, I passed a PCSO in uniform on a bike with no lights and no reflective of any sort - gave him a strong word or two as I went past.

  24. Or turning right at a roundabout with double lane exits - use the right hand lane as you leave and then merge if required, don't swing across to the left hand side as you approach your exit. Then again, there are also the numpties who are sat in the left hand lane and refuse to let perfectly legitimate traffic merge from the right hand side.
  25. The real b@st@rds do it from the middle lane !!!!!
