I will say this for the forum assassination of AL... It's very therapeutic. I'm almost starting to believe we're better off without him.

A fake Austin or a real Les Reed? This is pretty much how I think Les Reed sees himself now Cortese has gone.

Right back at ya grrr, koeman baby Yeah…

Lol good catch but let me answer for GS on his behalf… He has been reading the forums for a long time but only just decided to start posting.

You must have missed it. 207 goals across all leagues an competitions. I expect you would find half of James beatties goals np. Also if you are going to use Prem only as comparison Rickie scored 28 in 2 seasons in a league widely regarded to be stronger than it was even when Beattie was playing not to mention the fact that Rickie is a lot older than Beattie was and forgive me but I don't have the stats to compare but I suspect that Rickie got a fair few more assists over 2 years compared to Beattie. Also St Chalet when are you going to put this goon back in his box, he never learns and is clearly on a wind up mission again.

We need to hold fast and not let Adam dictate anything. If he suddenly thinks he is bigger than the whole team then he needs a lesson and to be made an example of. This is business, you signed a contract, if liverpool dont think you are worth the money we want then tough ****, take it up with them. If what Guan says is true i'd minimum have his captaincy off him then bench him till his head returns to normal size even if it costs us long term. The other players need to be sent a message.

If lallana is throwing his toys out the pram (speculation) then quite frankly if I was the board I would be even less inclined to let him go. He may say he has been loyal servant but quite simply he signed a contract and no doubt in order to get a juicy wage and other bonuses. He can be a drama queen and sit the season with the reserves and Osvaldo or he can roll his sleeves up and make someone else think he's worth as much as we currently value him at.

Yes 207 goals across all leagues an competitions. I expect you would find half of James beatties goals in there np. May be worth a debate for fun but probably not on this thread.

Okay who left the cage door open?

One thing is definite, Rickie will be wearing a different number for 'pool.

Good to hear the team spirit is holding up under the motivational expertise of Ralph Kreuger.

This, no one has come close since MLT. We made a hopeful song about Rickie taking us to the premier league when we were in the depths of League 1, he then went and did it and more. He never let the ego take over, always followed the rules and showed respect to the club, didn't kick off when things weren't going his way. He enabled us to live the dream it's only fair we share the same back.

Funny article from back in the day, posted on other thread but thought it was good enough to be dragged up here too. Rickie Lambert has no re-sale value.

adam lallana when he commits after the World Cup

never, he is a legend and without his contribution we would not be back in the prem.

Wow, someone got Dean Hoyle's email address, this is golden now. Huddersfield Town chairman says no to Bristol Rovers' Lambert DEAN HOYLE today scotched rumours of continued Town interest in Rickie Lambert and said both he and manager Lee Clark are delighted with the five signings made so far this close-season. Despite denials by the Galpharm club and Bristol Rovers, stories of a deal for the £750,000-rated striker, who was a Town transfer target last January, refuse to go away. However chairman Hoyle, who is cycling 70 miles a week as he prepares for his charity bike ride to the opening League I match at Southend United on Saturday, August 8 (see Page 10), insisted: “A move for Rickie Lambert is a no-no. “No disrespect to a very good player, but it’s a simple matter of economics. Any deal would cost a minimum of £750,000 plus add-ons for a player who is 27 and who would want a three-year contract. “Even if he scored 30 goals a season for those three years, by the time the contract is at an end, the player would be 30, and therefore there would be little or no resale value. “That means that even before meeting wage demands, the signing would cost £5,000 a week, and this club cannot do that kind of business. “If Rickie Lambert was 22 or 23, it would be a different matter, but he’s not and suggestions that we will sign him are nonsense.” Lambert, who has a year remaining on his Rovers contract, bagged 29 goals last season to take his total club haul to 58 in three seasons and spark rumours of a move away. But he is back in training with Bristol and director of football Lennie Lawrence said: “I am bored with this story. We have received no contact and no offers from Huddersfield. “And we haven’t received anything from anyone else and I haven’t spoken to anyone about him. As far as I am concerned he is with us for the rest of the season.”
