brave, I call 47 although I hope your right so I can stop refreshing this bloody thread and get on with my life
-
Like this, hope it catches on. Game was good, agree with everyone else although not many people have mentioned Lallana, who I thought looked like the quality player we know he can be again. He showed some brilliant skill to craft openings for himself and others, very quickly into the game the oppo players were having to double up to keep him quiet which made room in other areas of the pitch. Felt jays running and positions wasn't as effective as usual but I liked the fact he doesn't get deterred and tries to work opportunities from start to finish. Gaston, sorry but I couldn't see the positive impact of him coming on it seemed to me that he gave the ball away too much and his passing accuracy was poor again, which is sad to see. Think guly would have done as good if not better. New lads phenomenal. The quiet doubts I had about Lovren were dispelled and Wanyama is a monster and some of his play working with Spider in the centre was the best you'll see in the prem. Lambert involved subtly in most of our forward play as ever, great pen i shouldn't have doubted him on scoring it (the old pessimistic saint in me). Chambers is good but needs to learn to watch how far he drifts in the same problem as against RS. Shaw... Could he possibly be as good as Bale over the next 5 years, starting to see glimpses of it already. JWP has one hell of a free kick on him. Not completely sure he is our answer to playmaking but undoubtedly prem quality at his age already. Boruc saves.

Someone who can talk his language; please can you get on twitter and point out to Osvaldo that Jonny Depp has a house in the area, and he can have his own pirate ship moored at Ocean Village. Job done. Watches are for chumps, it's all about the galleons these days.

Is there any danger of Rickie going to Liverpool?
Mallagroth replied to Brave Sir Robin's topic in The Saints
If an offer came in and Ricky wants to go, i'd be delighted for him and wouldn't mind if we let him go for free. Lambert is a saints legend, but the last thing on his list of personal ambitions is to play for Liverpool, after everything that we have been through with him and he has done for us I wouldn't want to stand in the way of that. Prefer to loan him to Liverpool though if we have to... -
Downing & Chamakh - jealous? If not, then who SHOULD we have signed?
Mallagroth replied to mcbendy's topic in The Saints
Lol brain fart. I was thinking of Remy, what a tool. -
went to waterfront once last season and had a good quality feed. Don't go to Alex it's ****, you'll hate it, crap quality, expensive beer and it's busy enough already for my liking, thanks.

Kone... no sorry Chez I just cannot understand this one. We have 2 players of much better quality playing in this position and one of a similar style. From what I saw of Kone he only looked good in an average/poor team. I'll eat my words if he does a good job for Newcastle but I reckon it's a dud if they intend to progress much more than last season. -
haha went over my head first time, like it.

Valar dohaeris Pablo
-
C'mon Pablo sign the ****ing contract or we'll have to start with the whole equine heads in beds thing again. Hope this one goes through, can't see how and not sure if good from a morale point of view long term. But it would be a cracking signing short term even if he scores a couple. (To show we can get targets of this stature to others considered to be at this level)
-
...sorry

Was it the thought of Ramirez spraying his balls down Osvaldo's channel that did it for you?

Just got back. Our first choice 11 is going to be pretty tough to beat as long as we can keep them all fit (Shaw!). Chambers was getting pulled out of position quite a bit but I think that this is just slight inexperience, lets put it this way he is already better than Fox on the other side. Lambert was quiet, but to be fair if you had been handed a dream start for your country would you be throwing yourself into the thick of it 3 days before. I wonder if this is why it got a little bit *****slaps, maybe he felt the guy was getting a bit too keen in the tackles. Wanyama is a beast. Lallana was quality today and at his best, but consistency will be the key to shut up the critics. Hate to say, although I think he is a legend, that Kelvin has had his day, and needs to stay as club captain behind the scenes. Isgrove and Puncheon deserve regular places on the bench. Puncheon is going to be our super sub, the game looked dead and suddenly exploded with his injection of movement and link up play. I have been someone clamouring for Gaston to be given a chance this season to show what he can do, I stand by this, but credit where it's due; based on todays performance together with all the online games that I was able to get streams of I believe that Guly deserves to start the game at West Brom ahead of Gaston, admittedly this is probably what we will see anyway with the international game's being so close to prem kick off, but I genuinely believe that Guly is doing a better job than Gaston at playing the link up in the hole. Don't get me wrong Gaston has shown again today that he can play a pass and has flair but he so often doesn't do the simple things in the position and Guly does and it kept the ball at a Saints players feet. Altogether we dominated them in the first half with our best team, we let sloppy goals in (again) and the vast swathe of changes led to the drop of momentum in the second half, but from the first goal the result never felt much in doubt. Very encouraging and the moral boost of winning this one shouldn't be underestimated, looking forward to the trip to West Brom. all imho of course...

Who is to be praised for the clearing out the deadwood?
Mallagroth replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
good work Baz, liking the humour. -
It's Happening !

@officialpompey are pleased to announce Southampton Football Club as our new shirt sponsor for the remainder of the season.

ART do you have a personal connection with Billy Sharp and is this why you hate Lallana so much? Everytime you appear on this site it seems to be to slag AL off. Your obviously entitled to your opinion, but it's driving me mad trying to guess why you hate him quite so much. Did he fiddle with your missus? did he put a turd through your door? ding your car? C'mon there is definitely something so just cough it up, you might find some of us agree with you about it and change our opinion of him if we knew the facts, coz at the moment it's starting to seem petty and a little stalker wierd to be honest. SWF demandz the truth !

Who is to blame for the Summer of inactivity?
Mallagroth replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
This is about the jist of it Jeff, don't worry about it, no one will remember this thread in a couple of weeks. -
okay okay, so hypothetically over the next couple of years if we were to win a few cups, finish higher in the league than Liverpool, get European football and some better players, your saying that potential players would choose us over liverpool because of the added other factors despite us offering the same wages?
-
You clearly state that in this post it's not just about wages... Lucky I kept it hey Baz... you silly sod
-
okay let me give you further benefit of the doubt. Your argument is its all about wages correct ? and that is the only important factor?
-
You seem to have this problem with your footie knowledge as well badoomsh
-
my bad, but to be fair did i really need to say anything to achieve this.
-
Cynical but sadly seems true too often. Suarez latest stunt is unbelievable, i'm of the opinion he has made Rogers 'promise' up which is a new low even for him. Gotta admit League one was great fun and good to see honest players mostly working hard game in and out.
