  1. Ralph may be guilty of some misjudgments. But boring he is not. And I agree that there are powerful signs of an amazing team being built.
  2. Have never felt so unfairly treated by the officials......................🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
  3. Brilliant, Saints. And (with a couple of reservations) brilliant, Ralph!
  4. Whatever happens from here this has been an epic performance.
  5. UNBELIEVABLE
  6. Such an impressive half. We just need Tella or Moussa on for Redmond... and then 30 mins of Broja please!!
  7. Solent commentators a little unfair on Djenepo. Thought he was clearly offside for the first skied miss. On the second he shot twice but was blocked both times. Great to see Ely playing well. that seems like a total bonus for us.
  8. Maybe Ralph deserves a little more respect after the first 45? McCarthy: a great save down low which Forster may or may not have made + great 2-3 great punches out from dangerous corners. Stephens and Salisu: both pretty strong this half. Stephens aggression made our goal. Djenepo: really impressive half. Tino: incredible again. Stu has injured calf so all the fury there was misplaced. Only legitimate question is whether Walcott should be off in favor of Tella or Redmond (or possibly Tino, with KWP coming in.) I also like the fact that they seem to have done a slightly better than usual job of managing energy. It wasn't all-out blitzing all half. They were selective. Let's see if they can hold out against the onslaught. I do think 1-2 is most likely result, but..... it's been great so far.
  9. I really think the story will end up being that Saints have played a blinder this summer. Every signing so far looks somewhere between good and sensational. Tino's class was pretty clear pre-season. So damn exciting to see Adam hit the net. And let's not forget how amazing Che Adams has been playing of late. That was a magnificent set up for the goal. Adam and Adams could be a big big story for us this year.
  10. The negativity from some here is understandable but just misguided. Did you see Tino preseason? He looks to me like potential player of the season. Adam A deserves the confidence boost of a first intro. If you were Everton, not sure you'd want to see him there. McCarthy and Forster are about the same level. McCarthy has had incredible games for Saints. And for low shots close by he can get down faster. It's the opening game. Keep an open mind. It's OK to feel a little excitement!!!!!!!!
  11. stunning strike by Bednarek. If only it were at the other end.
  12. Livramento has had sensational start. Not just the assist, but an incredible curving through ball to Obafemi and a couple of stunning close control touches.
  13. This is still workin with VPN (Spain)
  14. see what I mean?!
  15. Excited to see Livramento. I have a good feeling about his prospects here.
  16. I think people are missing how much JWP brings to our high-press. When Saints are good, the effective high-press is what everything builds from. And JWP is at the heart of it. His extreme fitness and intelligent reading of the game mean that he is a key contributor to our regaining possession. This isn't always obvious, because he's doing this in combination with other players. But we are simply a more effective side when he's on the field. Time and again he converts 40% chance of gaining (or retaining) possession into 60%. Over the last year, he's added to that core much better, bolder, faster passing. I really do think he's a special player, and that he deserves more appreciation here than he gets.
  17. Will take that... Great energy, confidence, skills....
  18. Tella + Adams = 🤩. !
  19. Salisu nearly undoes his early shine!
  20. Walcott..! off a poor defensive error.
  21. Perraud looks pacy and has shown a few good touches down near the corner flag...
  22. Salisu looking really good...
  23. Like everyone, I'm pretty bummed at many aspects of this season, or at least of the 2021 part of it. But one thing, to me, is markedly different than most of the time under Puel, Pellegrino and Hughes. Namely... We have played a LOT of really pleasing-to-watch football. Fast, crisp moves from one penalty box to the other. Fast decision-making. Beautiful flicks. Determined running... And accompanied by an impressive ability to win back the ball quickly. Now admittedly... it's usually been only in the first half of games. And it hasn't resulted in nearly enough goals (except when one D. Ings has been on song). And it's been accompanied by far too much defensive frailty. But still. It has often been beautiful to watch. vs. several seasons when far too many games were simply... bland, boring. Clearly we have some big things to fix. But I personally believe the core fundamentals are there. So I choose to go into the summer holding onto hope. Specifically, I hope we can solidify our defense, hang onto Danny, continue to develop Tella and Salisu and Armstrong (who's had an incredible year) and bring in at least one super-exciting player with the robustness to thrive in the premier league. And I hope we find a buyer who understands the club's potential and bring some smiles back. Happy summer, everyone.
  24. Tella for Redmond, pls.
  25. Che Adams is going to become a true Saints legend. He's got all the talent. And strength. Just needs to keep building confidence. Today will help.
