UK returns "East of Suez" for the first time in over 40 yrs
Batman replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Lounge
we have had a permanent deployment of surface units for years over there (and UKMCC). Under Op Kipion. We have always used the US base/facilities. Just that we will now have our own corner of the island to use. edit - for that small price, will probably just add a few buildings to the US base and upgrade UKMCC -

Are the "big teams" starting to raise their game against us
Batman replied to Stepgar's topic in The Saints
I think city have just raised their game full stop arsenal, that was a point well earned until we got unlucky with an extra injury united...we shall see -
by a huge margin
-
what a weird season we will leave the 3 horrible fixtures STILL in the top 4. odd liverpool and spurs blew it today...
-
liverpool hanging on at the mo
-
Derby 3-0 up already Looks like it is their turn to come up
-
uh oh 2-1 to newcastle newcsatle down to 10 men (taylor sent off) 8 mins or so to go
-
2-0 what a result so far for newcastle with their 3rd choice, 1st appearance keeper for the whole of he 2nd half I suspect they wont want pardew sacked this week
-
newcastle 1-0 up
-
starts off with chelsea away to newcastle, could be a good game man city will hammer everton, they are on fire at the MO
-
he was brilliant at the start of the season but lately, not really getting much on target and against the better sides in the last two, really fluffing his lines. he needed (and needs to) do miles better than he has he has scored in 2 games from the last 9 he is better than he is showing at the mo but was that just an early purple patch or will the class shine though?
-
he wont be staying he has been pretty clear that he still wants out I think Wanyama is more up arsenal street. they need a big power house. And vic can now play also, arsenal have been linked with Kondogbia (sp) who is even bigger
-
well, if we lose this, that will make out record against the "top 6" bloody awful and put us on course to be just like last season also, you watch the media (or sky should I say) go ON AND ON AND ON AND ON about some sort of rift the two managers had ages ago
-
most teams in league 1 were not really able to spend what they sold lambert cost more than the next two highest fees for that season COMBINED...(one of them was another player we bought) we blew everyone away if transfers, before selling OxO buy Fonte was another example. he dropped a league whilst being heavily linked to CLIMB a league you reckon pardew came cheap? yet we ended up £33m (or so) in debt, with the owner writing it all off
-
bit like us in league 1. blowing the rest of the division out of the water in transfer fees (to finish 2nd)

Good point regarding using your phone whilst driving I have (and always got one for many years gone by) a parrot blue tooth phone thingy. Excellent bits of kit If my next car does not have anything hands free wise built in already, will get another Even if you are strapped for cash, the cheapo blue tooth devices you get that clip on to your visor are pretty good
-
He is right though. United will pay over the odds now for players if the parent club holds out enough
-
No chance what so ever Not one
