Clearly he is funny because he makes a living out of it. Your humour is probably a little more Little Britain.

In fairness I became a little suspicious when Qatar won the 2022 World Cup. They are a dreadful bunch - a number told us that they were voting for our bid in 2018 and then voted the other way. Jack Warner even grumbled about our gifts to the wives. I hope we go for the jugular on this.

Proper Saints fan. He makes me laugh.

In fairness Phil if you read this thread you will find it is the atheists that are ramming their view down the throats of a few people who are saying that it is probably a bit more complicated than just thumbing through the science books.

Well I can promise you I am not making this up. I have a television in one of the rooms that comes on full blast at random times in the night, I have a cleaning lady that moans that amongst other things she was passed in the corridor by a 'body part' and the assistant manager show me phone video footage of his shirts behaving bizarrely when drying in his room. Do I assume this is all bullshot?

Alright then VFTT; I run a Georgian Coaching Inn among other things and I have an issue with the place being haunted. Now I would be the first to laugh it off but I have the cleaning ladies on my case, live in staff and have even have people leave reviews saying 'nice hotel but it is haunted'. How does science explain that!

Intellectually stunted by your definition. I might think you were intellectually stunted by not opening up your mind to anything other than the scientific norm. Try questioning that or are you struggling to find the questions to ask?
-
Then I think you are naive to put your faith in science without accepting there could be other alternative explanations.
-
There are no spiritual side effects.
-
The question was is their a god. You are cherry picking.
-
In my experience most people with a strong faith enjoy a strong sense of contenetment especially in bad times.
-
I love it! 'A traditional God' - what is he a bit old fashioned? I am not sure I have read that anybody is defending creationalism or resurrection (although I am sure it is possible); I find it a shallow assertion to blindly believe in today's science without thinking out of the box. Are you not capable of thinking without picking up a copy of new science magasine?
-
Well I think generally the theme of these thread is that people are ramming down the throats of people that there is not a God. People's faith is generally very important to them and ridicule is pretty offensive. By the way a slug does not love. Oh and Darwin who created the evolution theory was not an atheist.

Again you are looking at this too scientifically. Laws of physics change. As I have said before, life is such a miracle that you cannot just rule out God. Now have you ever done a Ouija board? I have (albeit a long time ago)? there is no way that science explains how this works, and it does. I am totally open to explanations as I am with ghosts. I have encountered people that swear blind that they have experienced ghostly activities; normal people no less (my wife is one). In fact if I think about it, so have I but I have always just assumed there is an explanation for them as you would seem to do. I am a rational person. If you are going to debate the issue of God you should also address the issue of ghosts.

I am surprised that such an intellectual heavyweight has failed to address the spiritual element of believing in God. Why do people who have such a strong faith have such a feeling of cententment. What about the Toronto blessing?

Clearly demonstrating an indepth knowledge of the Christian faith. The old boy is 89 so I suspect that his judgement day will not be too far away anyway. Do you do jokes on other faiths. Thought not you are bound by your political correctness.

I was at that game as a nipper. I think we drew 2-2

You clearly also fail to grasp the concept of faith. I have a lot of questions like Thomas but am certainly not going restrict myself to the boundaries of what scientists believe at this point in time. In thirty years time they will no doubt have expanded on their theories which for all you no may make it more likely there is a God. Life is a miracle and that is why I believe there is a God. I also respect Christian values even if I am not sure I will be in the mix on judgement day.
-
I am not having to prove anything. You do not understand the concept of faith.
-
Science changes God does not.
-
So how would you go about disproving the existance of Jesus?
-
As a rule I find the people who believe in God are more contented that those that do not. Despite having a lot of questions I think it is more likely that there is a God than there is not. Life is just too much of a miracle to be explained by science. The big conundrum for me has always been being accepted into Heaven which is a wonderful place but how can it be so wonderful if so many of the people that I know are not allowed in. Put simply I would not really know anyone there.

I think a suicide pack (ropes, razors, pills etc) should be put in the cells of certain offenders. Ian Brady, Rose West, Huntley, Levi Bellfield etc; they can then do us all a favour

If I understand you right it is a bit like saying we can't play football because the referee is ****e
