  1. Scotland a strange team, playing some very nice stuff at times with some glaring individual errors. Their RB and RCB in particular both making mistakes. Armstrong looking good, supporting Robertson on the left.
  2. They're going to lose every game and go home in tears.
  3. Good first game, though I was disappointed with Turkey - I was expecting more after the build up they were given, their defending was good but passing was shocking, giving it away immediately after winning it back almost every time. The referee was first class. Wish we could have that in the Prem every week.
  4. Even a lot of the normally weaker teams seem to be stronger this time around - Turkey, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Ukraine - could all reasonably cause an upset against one of the big boys. Disagree with you on Germany though, I think they finish third in their group and will be lucky to get the best runners-up spots or whatever they're called.
  5. Any ex-Saints to keep an eye out for at the Euros? I can think of Lovren (Croatia), Hojbjerg (Denmark), Stekelenburg (Netherlands), and obviously Shaw for England. I see Pelle is no longer part of the Italy squad though which must bring their overall handsomeness down significantly. Also this is the first time I've noticed Serbia didn't qualify so no Tadic.
  6. Spurs fans on Reddit were asking what he was like as a manager, a helpful Roma fan responded "Your defense will suck. But you will suck at attacking too." Perfect fit for Spurs then!
  7. What's Ryan Sessengon up to these days? Loan at Hoffenheim wasn't it? Wonder if he'll be moving on this window.
  8. It's either Watmough (OG) or Watmough (unavailable through suspension). Could be either!
  9. At least we got a fee. I don't understand how it's so hard to get a decent keeper in, everybody else in the league seems to have at least one better than ours and they're swapped around for pennies. Can't we have one of Newcastle's or Romero now that he's third choice at Utd?
  10. Didn't Ralph quite publicly call him out for lack of professionalism and fitness?
  11. Wikipedia very helpfully lists all the teams in League One 21/22 by ground capacity - Portsmouth are eighth on the list after Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, MK Dons, Ipswich, Bolton, Charlton and Wigan. Medium-sized fish in a medium-sized pond now. Where they belong.
  12. Imagine we'll sell for around £5m, I think it's clear he's not going to get much serious playing time here.
  13. Would be a very good bit of business at around £8m, widely regarded as one of the best LBs in the French league last season. Not sure how I feel about having a full back on each side that can actually cross though?!
  14. All this does is highlight how poor the original squad selection was, White and JWP should have been in from the start. It's taken 2 friendlies for Southgate to realise Mings is a disaster waiting to happen so needs to call up an emergency CB. Phillips has offered nothing JWP doesn't and shouldn't be there, I'm guessing he's decided Henderson is fit enough. Maguire should not go if he's not fit enough for the first game.
  15. Celtic supposedly open to selling Ajer for £10m and Edouard for £15m. If we sell JWP for £80m can we just buy Celtic FC?
  16. Thought Prowsey had an excellent game, and very pleased to see the pundits and commentators talking him up too. Southgate is nothing if not a crowd pleaser so fully expecting him in the squad now after that, only to never step foot on the pitch. Clearly the best midfielder today, even if he wasn't on set pieces. Phillips was average and I thought his positional discipline was lacking, Henderson did nothing apart from "look at me miss a penalty", Bellingham was alright and I didn't even notice Rice.
  17. Schlupp is awful and hasn't done anything since being a bit-part player when Leicester won the league. Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.
  18. I think it will be very interesting how VAR is handled at the Euros. They used it at the World Cup I think and it was okay but a bit slow, and then much better at the women's world cup the next year. Every other country seems to manage it fine.
  19. In fairness (and I can't believe I'm defending Southgate's England), we were missing all the players from City, United and Chelsea. Presumably they will be involved Sunday and we'll have a more dynamic front three to compliment our seven defenders.
  20. Watmough and Close both leaving for bigger clubs, and they've released a bunch on a free after trying to give them new contracts on worse terms.

Can't see Sportsbet dropping the stupid bitcoin icon from their logo either.
  22. Presumably he'll wait to see who else gets crocked in these pointless friendlies before naming any replacements. But JWP should be top of the list.
