Don't understand how we always have such a blind spot with keepers, he was statistically the second-worst keeper in the league last season and cost us far more points than he won - United this weekend being a good example. I don't mind the extension with a view for him bench-warming for the next three years but we absolutely have to upgrade sooner rather than later.

I think option-to-buy is an issue for the end of the season. If he bangs some goals in and subsequently prices us out of a permanent move for him, then it's still a win.

I'm not, obscene money for an average player that hit a purple patch in a team that couldn't score for toffee. He will find himself in the Championship in a few years, either with Newcastle or after being sold for peanuts. (My crystal ball also shows JWP crossing it to Danny Ings to score the winner in the World Cup final if you were interested!).
