Walcott and Armstrong are not doing enough defensively for me. McCarthy having to be brilliant to keep this at 4-1.
-
We need to do something down the right, everything is coming down there. Diallo for Armstrong?
-
Grealish was surely offside before that corner.
-
Danny Fucking Ings. Thought Armstrong had left that pass too late but that is an outstanding finish.
-
Two excellent saves McCarthy!

Flipping heck, happy birthday JWP! Cash very lucky to still be on the pitch. I wonder if they will stop giving us free kicks now?
-
Easiest set piece goal I've ever seen! JWP just chips it straight to Vest, great header, good goal. Deserved!
-
14:05 for the 9-0 sweepstake.
-
Dodgy offside call already! Any good streams? All the usual places are rubbish today.

He's a strange one, he didn't even come back for pre-season, just had his loan extended immediately so Ralph hasn't even had a chance to look at him.
-
You should listen to the interview if you haven't already, it was actually very interesting and much less question-dodging than you might expect. Basically Toby said that they are ring-fencing the funds for first team play, the budget cuts shouldn't affect our ability to pay/buy players (though confirmed again that Gao doesn't put any money in), but he said that things like stadium upgrades, overseas projects etc. are having to be held back. If the reduced income lasts past this season then we will have issues but I don't think anybody is expecting that.

He's the Managing Director of Southampton FC, I think we can probably take what he says at face value rather than "highly speculative".
-
BBC were asking Kane after the Burnley game if this is their season, Kane said the cliché "take it one game at a time". So not just Saggy Chops.
-
I think it's just simply that he has less pressure on him - both positionally (playing in a midfield 3 instead of 2, can afford to take more risks as they will be easier to mop up) and personally, as he's not captain. I think at Saints he put a lot of pressure on himself - captain should be driving the game etc. etc. - which caused him to play too conservatively for our style.
-
Oh I know most of his games are at LB, but he's an out-of-position RB. If you watch him he is the exact opposite of two-footed - watching him run to the byline, cut back and cross with his right foot is painful at times. He has no left foot. I agree though that we were interested in him for his ability to cover on both sides, but I don't think Vokins is as far down the pecking order as Valery is.

So the media already talking about how Spurs are challenging for the title this season - one point above us! Does that make us in the title race too?
-
Brandon Williams is a right back, if we were going for him, it was for back up for KWP.
-
We only change a winning team if there's an injury. Same line-up hopefully. J- and K-WP will probably double up on Grealish, Vest will need to be alert to get rid of all the inevitable free kicks from the left.
-
He's been an absolute cut above Hojbjerg. The partnership he's developed with JWP is fantastic... dare I say he is the Wanyama to JWP's Schneiderlin?
-
Looked brilliant out on the right, I wonder if we'll see him there again? We were all expecting him to play alongside JWP but Romeu has arguably been our best player this season!
-
Delighted with that result, a very comfortable win against the team top of the league, and at home too! I thought Vest, Romeu, JWP, Adams were outstanding; Bednarek, KWP, Bertrand and Ings were very good too. Armstrong didn't look 100%, Redmond did a good job bringing the ball forward from midfield but his end product was poor, needs someone challenging for his place. I will let the 'taters off the many (many, many...) 0-9 mentions today as it was a year ago exactly, but hopefully they can let it drop now? It was a freak result, happened over a year ago, and we're fifth (likely seventh by the time we next play). Everton were poor, very ordinary albeit without their best player. Vestergaard did a fantastic job of man-marking DCL, Rodriguez was by far and away the worst James on the pitch, and the petulant hacking in the second half is not going to win them any neutral fans. Bernard should have got two yellows just before Digne got himself sent off (how is anyone saying that's accidental/not a red, by the way? No chance of getting the ball, holding his hands up in innocence BEFORE standing on KWP's calf). Poor losers.
-
Romeu looks shattered, not surprising after his performance today, he has been brilliant. N'Lundulu on for Adams.
-
He always does this when we're winning, the only thing I find frustrating about him as a manager!
-
Wow Everton do not like losing, lots of niggly little tackles there. Rodriguez lucky not to get a yellow there too.
-
Yes straight red for Digne, Bernard is the guy on a yellow that somehow avoided a second one.
