Time to go Reed. Take Puel and Black with you please.
-
Or why they appointed the clown in first place. Clue...... Yes + man
-
Kante was a release clause fee. Mane supposisidly didn't have a release clause.
-
You probably just need to look at some of the other deals past 2 years to see if we got a good deal - Pogba - 89m Kevin De Bruyne - 62m Sterling - 52m Anthony Martial - 51m Ángel Di María - 51m Oscar - 51m John Stones - 48m Sane - 43m Granit Xhaka - 38m Nicolás Otamendi - 38m Mkhitaryan - 36m Shkodran Mustafi - 35m Benteke (to Liverpool) 35m Roberto Firmino 35m Michy Batshuayi - 33m Eric Bailly - 33m Kante 33m Memphis Depay (to United) 30m Yannick Bolasie - 30m Moussa Sissoko - 30m Sadio Mane - 30m Slimani - 26m
-
So we could have kept Mane another season and sold him for 25m rather than 30m.
-
WBA got 15m for Berahino He only had 6 months left on his contract.
-
The 38.5m price was dismissed by pretty much everyone at the time. Mane even spoke about the pressure (lack of) of his 30m price tag. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/525844/Jamie-Carragher-Liverpool-transfer-news-Sadio-Mane-Premier-League-Southampton/amp https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.thisisanfield.com/2016/06/liverpool-insist-sadio-mane-fee-30-million-despite-contrary-reports/amp/ https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3772114/amp/Sadio-Mane-not-fazed-30m-price-tag-Liverpool-star-praises-fans-impressive-start.html https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.thisisanfield.com/2016/06/liverpool-insist-sadio-mane-fee-30-million-despite-contrary-reports/amp/ https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.express.co.uk/sport/football/693953/Sadio-Mane-Liverpool-LFC-Southampton-SFC-Transfer-News-Rumours-Gossip/amp https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/06/28/sadio-mane-liverpool-announce-five-year-deal-for-30m-striker/amp/ The horrible thing is, like we saw with the financials this year from Gareth Rodgers we are fortunate to see 70% of a transfer fee after previous clubs, player and agents get a cut. So we probably cleared 20m selling one of Europe's best players to a league rival. When do people start to question what the dippers have on ol Leslie?
-
He is and was clearly absolute class and for us to sell him for 30m so early in the summer did smell a bit of "gentleman's agreement" or dare I say release clause. Without him we seem to be down 20+ goals and 20+ points. He's also taken all Shane Long's ability and Tadics assists skills with him
-
Gallagher 2 goals in his last 24 league games and relegated? Even if he could play (he can't) would you really pick him ahead of Gabbi? Even Long? He has been linked with a 3m summer move to Cardiff today.

The "race" lol with 4 wins in our last 16 feels more like a limp? Anyway...... Be great to finish strongly, take some momentum into next season. A win over one of the big 6 will also remove a dark cloud and allow us to start afresh next season. With £2m more paid per extra league finish, finishing as high as possible would be v. good. Think we get a minimum £100m this year regardless, but every little helps...

Let's play Coco and win this 4-0 like last season
-
Not me officer. Didnt Will become Dibden Purlieu Saint and then unbelievable Jeff? Either way I'm not good enough to go pro..... Yet (evil laugh)

That's the common response I get up here. Normally in a golf tournament/open (Edinburgh or Glasgow) they will clock the English accent and ask which town I'm from (Bournemouth) and my team. "Southampton" I proudly announce. Usual response was "the Saints... Good team" or "Good manager" or "you guys play good football" Now it's "what's happened this season?" Although I don't rate Puel I find myself defending him.... Oh it's a transition season and oh yeah we've had loads of injuries and/or we have played a million games this season and players are exhausted. All with a hint of let's move on.
-
I'd stick with Gabbiadini just now, he needs more support up top and simply pumping 50 yard long balls to him will make him less effective. 5 games without a goal now, possibly 3 games without a shot(?) need to find that formula that was v.effective when he first joined.

Liverpool 0-0 Saints - Match & Reactions Thread
Heisenberg replied to Heisenberg's topic in The Saints
Don't think there is much complaints about the point. More the setup, approach and another game where we've had zero shots on target (1 off) 2 league games vs Liverpool with Puel and we've not managed a single shot on target in either game. + our 10th failed attempt in league to beat a top 6 side this season. Today had some pluses (parked bus well, FF pen save and performance and a point is credible) and some minuses (above) Was also bit surprised we were time wasting at the end, was a performance and ending like when Plymouth went there and drew 0-0, all felt a bit odd. Especially the players celebrating at end. -
4 wins in his and our last 16 games.... Impossible to say if it would be better or worse with Caceres. I like the guy, will be a decent option for us next season.

Posted on another thread but relevant here since you've asked.... JWP and Romeu have improved on previous seasons but think that's more game time than coaching (IMHO) Romeu has been excellent all season and by Puel and Les own admission he'd had no time to coach and that was around January time. Ironically Romeu is rated higher before Jan than after.... weird coincidence I'm sure. WhoScored rate players each game on a number of factors. Romeu is avg 7.08 this season vs 6.80 last JWP is avg 6.74 vs last season 6.55 Has the below as performing worse (backwards) this season vs last VVD is 7.43 was 7.56 Cedric is 7.0 was 7.27 Fonte is 6.5 was 7.10 Clasie is 6.4 was 6.7 Forster is 6.3 was 6.8 Bertrand is 6.8 was 7 Davis is 6.7 was 7 Boufal is 6.8 was 7.6 Tadic is 6.8 was 7.1 Long is 6.3 was 7 Redmond is 7.01 his avg at Norwich was 7.29

11th time lucky against big 6. Would like to see us attack them. Sit back and defend deep and they will likely win. Perhaps try Gabbi and Long up top. COYS
