I don't see much movement now as teams around us look equally half assed. Sides like Watford will see staying up as an achievement, Bournemouth and Burnley too. Finishing 8th or 9th for me isn't an achievement anyway... Not if you're 20 odd points off 7th.

My pick hasn't changed since Koeman left. Marco Alexandre Saraiva da Silva

We normally wait for some feel good action or results before delivering our spin. If we get any kind of result against Liverpool (or Arsenal or united) I'd expect to see some articles drop. Feel good must make us more likely to eat spin.

I posted about his reputation before he signed. Got the normal "negative post" reaction from the happies https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?57004-Sofiane-Boufal-DONE-DEAL&p=2389515#post2389515

Cortese would never have appointed him.

Probably time for another poll. Mods?

So you want to give Puel full credit for the 1 or 2 players that have improved., but he's not responsible for the 7-8 players that have gone backwards in form under him?

Liverpool 0-0 Saints - Match & Reactions Thread
Heisenberg replied to Heisenberg's topic in The Saints
Nonsense. The EFL game at St Mary's we took the game to them and could have won 2 or 3 nil. Was one of our best performances this season. Helped that Liverpool put out a weaker team and had title priorities at the time. 2nd leg we did sit back, but we were fortunate they missed a hatful of chances. Sturridge could have scored 5 that night alone. We won't get lucky again and I'd simply like to see us control games not hope a team misses with 20 shots and pray our 1 shot goes in. Liverpool like to control games with the high press, there defeats have mostly come from sides that have attacked. -
With Puel we are 22 points behind last season's total (Koemans total) + scored 20 less. Everton are 17 points above last season with Koeman.
-
Being 9th or 10th isn't the reason I want Puel out and reading posts on this thread and others it isn't the reason for anyone. The issue is more we are just 2 points off 16th spot, 17 off 7th and the "football" he has served up regularly this season is utter dull Think some also concerned that we are 22 points worse off this season than last. And scored 20 less goals. That's a big drop in 12 months

Puel is our 1st team and head coach. He will be dictating the way we play from top to bottom. All teams play the same way so that the transition from one side to the next is as seamless as possible. So it's fair to say that his style is not effective for the 1st team or the development teams as all have struggled this season.

The trick is to find a good manager and then stick with him. Not just stick with any manager for the sake of it. Chelsea change managers all the time - 5 titles in 12 years Arsenal have stuck with there manager - 0 titles in 12 years

Lol good bants SKD. Light hearted tom foolery. Creeping you into my top 10 posters list now mate.

TBF we were virtually safe after the Palace win. Was a bit edgy at 1 down (against Palace) as for about 20 minutes think we were 16th with 7 games to go.
-
I'd keep Long. He proved last season (17 goals) that he's an asset. Just needs to be played right. If Puel does go this summer then Long could be back to his best next season.

Eh? Last 10 games Liverpool are 4th in form table. Played 10 W6 D2 L2 -
I don't think you need to be ITK to see something isn't right at the moment. We have an unprecedented amount of players either going backwards since there debut or an alarming drop of form from previous seasons.

Middlesborough is our last chance to do the double over a side.

10th time lucky against big 6. Would like to see us attack them. Sit back and defend deep and they will win. COYS

End of season maybe

Finishing a few points or goal difference ahead of Burnley, Bournemouth, Watford, WBA, Hull should not be celebrated Dropping 17 points off top 7 is a massive concern and finishing 9th or 10th doesn't change that

Bradford got to the cup final 4 years ago. Swansea won the cup. The parallels with Swansea could be frightening if we stick with Puel Swansea : 2012/13: Finish 8th 2013/14: Win the Cup 2014/15: Finish 8th Then 2015/16 drop off to 12th. Failure to repair the obvious cracks in the foundations and they are now quickly on the brink of relegation.

You still working for the club? How are things internally? Doesn't seem to be a happy family just now?
