They might.... More chance of Chelsea, Man C, if he does leave at all Not seen a single post on here suggesting he will join Everton. Just a few suggesting that he might. Its a football forum mate - Have a Wispa and calm down.

Same posters making the most noise on this thread also repeated many times that Koeman won't go to Everton They went very quiet when errrr Koeman went to Everton. https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?56495-Koeman-to-Everton#.WO_1F3PTXqA Think the same people also insisted we wouldn't sell Fonte without a Jan replacement... They will get one right soon enough. Laws of averages n that

Net spend probably nearer 40m as we have seen with our finances a 50m sale actually means the club see about 75%-80% Lets not forget the 6m they spent on Koeman too
-
They spent 75m on Bolasie, Morgan, Lookman, Williams and Gueye and recall they had a 30m bid accepted for sissoko but he chose Spurs? If they can hold onto Koeman this summer I can see another 75-100m being spent easy

The pull for VvD won't be Everton as much as it is Koeman Hes made no secret of there friendship and perhaps that's more of a magnet than we would like to think. Everton have shown with the wage offer to lukaku that they are prepared to pay the premium wages. We don't know what Evertons ambitions are, but I suspect they will spend big this summer

Relegated Teams - Players who would you buy from their Squads?
Heisenberg replied to le_tiss's topic in The Saints
Its the same every year with relegated clubs - keeper looks good as they have loads of shots to save. Remember when we just had to sign David Marshall as he was top class when Cardiff were relaged - think he conceded like 70+ league gaols but he did make some impressive one off saves. was Júlio César a few years ago too when QPR went down -

Jack Cork would probably get in our team now Vic and Morgan have moved on -
Yep that's the reality.... What VVD wants is only half the battle. If the club wants to cash in once again they will manage his exit and the "we didn't want to sell but..." messages will be dusted off. Think us fans are now numb to it all, we now just expect any decent players to be sold each summer. It's the Southampton way, certainly under Les and Kat. I am desperately trying to stay positive especially after Ralph's messages about keeping players. We need a summer where no 1st team player is sold, we deserve that.

Talk us through them.... I watched the game and only recall the goal. Can't remember another shot on target? Redmond had a half shot /volley from an angle (67th min) but think that was going side netting. Genuinely can't recall a shot on target other than the goal. -

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder & useful idiot is right; some posters (fans) prefer direct play. Under Mopo, Koeman and Adkins (to some degree) we defended as a team and attacked in numbers. You see Spurs and Everton doing this now – it’s successful and it’s entertaining. For me Puels style is too slow when attacking - he likes the whole team to defend as one, but restricts the numbers that attack, hence why against WBA we managed just a single shot on target + when we were in attacking positions we only had 2 maybe 3 in the box attacking crosses (look at Spurs and Everton – the attack fast and flood the opposition). A lot of Puels play relies heavily on Tadic having a good game, unfortunate like many players of his ilk he is inconsistent (probably more so this season than any). We as a team are therefore very inconsistent - some good stuff, some absolutely horrendous. I’m sure Puel will work on things and a summer of coaching + purchase one or two players that suit his style and things might look brighter and more deliberate next season. A settled team helps, plus playing players in natural positions of course -
FYI for those worried about losing Puel this summer... Puel is 33/1 to be next Arsenal manager. Same odds as Tony Adams

Stephens needs a bit of luck and recently he's got it (AFCB misses and penalty + WBA misses in dying minutes) His first 7 games we conceded 18 goals and I thought the experience might be more damaging than good, but 2 wins helps alot and his confidence will be high. Some proper tests coming up, City, Chelsea, Liverpool..... Let's see how he performs in the last few games before we start rating his as England's best CB and "better than stones"
-
If Arsene goes I'd imagine Puel will be top of the Arsenal wanted list. Arsene will probably recommend him too as they are very good mates

The form of Yoshida and the results of the last 2 games Plus a strong finish to our season

We are still without a league win over the BIG 6 this season and would be v.good to end that run ASAP Man C have only won 1 of the last 5 on the road - they are beatable for sure.

Be interesting to see the terms of his contract and how much of that is relevant to his exclusion. Recall seeing something when he was supposed to join AC Milan - fell through as they didn’t agree terms? Can’t remember the details but think it was saying £30k a week + £50k each time he played and he wanted more upfront. Perhaps we have agreed a similar deal - so the reported 100k a week he's on is actually (maybe) 60k a week + 40k a game bonus? Either that or he's not showing the skills in training.

I genuinely dont think we will see the exits like the last few summers - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/02/27/southamptons-board-want-avoid-selling-key-players-efl-cup-final/ Can see some fringe players leaving but nobody we want to keep, at least for this summer.

My point was about playing youngsters not necessarily academy players. The average age of our starting 11 has stayed the same from last season = 26 I'm all for bashing Koeman but......
-
Holgate (20), Pennington (21), Davies (18 ) Calvert - Lewis (20), Lookman (20) and Kenny (20) all part of the Everton starting 11 or bench today. If they are good enough they play for Koeman, he's proved that. Think he might object to being told to play academy players before he thinks they are ready?
