VVD is going nowhere http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/02/27/southamptons-board-want-avoid-selling-key-players-efl-cup-final/

Lol so you're 1 down against Germany, 10 minutes to go.... Quick look at the bench, you see Sterling, AOC, Barkley and Defoe looking eager and hungry.... Sit down boys JWP AND LUKE SHAW have this!! The futures bright

2016/17 forecast (player sales) is £58m. Now MLG was v.insistent that we got £38m for Mane, so that's just £20m for Wanyama, Pelle, Juanmi and Fonte and Koeman?? Seems we are paying more for players too...£65m for Boufal, Barry, Redmond and Hojbjerg ouch. Did we really swap Mane, Pelle, Wanyama, Fonte and Koeman for Barry, Redmond, Boufal and Hojbjerg and it cost us £7m + £16m more in wages? Still another nice profit for the club reported and plenty of cash in the bank too. Whoop

Last time AFCB finished above Saints?

James Ward-Prowse for England? ...say that again ...
Heisenberg replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Jeez someone make Trousers a mod already! Every thread is just him b****ing and moaning about other posters... Tick or 0.2/10 . -
Seems to have gone backwards fairly quickly under Puel (Boufal also) i had thought given the success of Ben Arfa that these two had the better chance of success under Puel Just hasnt happened yet for some reason.
-
Barry or no Barry hope Puel plays the attacking style weve seen in 2017 rather than revert to the sideways and defensive stuff we saw in 2016. AFCB score goals, in fact i think they are top scorers outside the top 7 (level with Man United) Thats a worry and given our 2 CBs have looked suspect in the last couple, maybe time for Cáceres even if he is on a PAYP deal. Still cant beleive we are level with AFCB - have they done well this season or have we just been a bit up/down?

Being physical is different to being dirty – Chelsea, Spurs, Everton, Stoke, WBA, WHU are all physical sides. They have height and strength in the side and use it effectively. We are not a physical side at all, perhaps with the exception of Romeu and sometimes you can see our players being simply overrun and over powered. Yesterday was a good example – we simply could not get the ball off Dembélé and he was allowed to carry the ball 20-25 yards forward or sideways a number of times in the 90 minutes. We are missing an enforcer or two like Dembélé and Wanyama – if Boro go down id like us to look at getting Traoré in, that kid is Redmond with skill, speed and power (& only just 21)

Couple of Spurs fans in our London office. Fair assessment; Said we were very poor in first half but better 2nd. They both felt that Spurs were comfortable and capable of going another gear if needed. Both thankful for Shane Long and his inability to stay onside.
-
Every place in the premier league is worth £2m so plenty still to play for. We wont catch Everton now (17 points ahead and even with 2 games in hand not likely) but could catch WBA in 8th.
-
He made a very good tackle on Son just after we scored. Son was 6 yards out and just about to smash it past FF Kept us in the game.
-
With 15 days to plan and prepare i expected more. Spurs outplayed us in the 1st half and 2nd half they allowed us to have more of the ball in our own half. We got a goal and should have kicked on, we didn't. Lots of huff and puff but didnt test Lloris again. Simply no threat or ideas going forward. Classic Saints in 2016 Last 15 mins when we should have been going for it, spurs looked more likely. Even when the 5 minutes added on came up - we didnt even manage to get in the Spurs half and the game whimpers out. Postives: FF made 3 top saves in 1st half, Romeu looked good in 2nd half.... Have i missed any others? Just expected a bit more zip and a clear game plan after 15 days of preparation. Weve lost 5 of the last 7 but mentioning any negatives is "trolling"

WHU have same points as us.
-
Or the reported 100k per week wages is in fact 10k per week + 90k when he plays?
-
If it wasnt for these dodgy referees and linesman we'd be top of the league.... 5 defeats in the last 7.... But everything will be ok next season (its like reading Ramirez threads from 2012)
-
League wins against top 6 this season = 0 Expected more energy and more ideas after 15 days on the training pitch. Frustrating last 15, threw nothing at them and let the game whimper out. Felt like a Puel 2016 performance, no ideas going forward, shakey at the back and flair players (Tadic and Boufal) awful
-
FT Puel 2k16 performance
-
Why is it that when we lead 2-1 the oppenants batter our goal, yet when we are 2-1 down we chuck nothing at at and the game whimpers out. Spurs have had it far too easy today
-
Spurs are a decent team no doubts or disputes. However they are without Kane (top scorer) and we have had 15 days to prepare for this game. Players look slower, weaker and the passing has been pathetic. JWPs free kick at the end summed us up nicely. Seems to be a classic Puel 2k16 performance, not committing players forward and defence looking shakey and sitting deep. A side lacking leadership, pace, ideas and Identity today. V.Poor

Yep 2-0 game over 7 Ps Puel!!
-
Could easily be 3-0 Can blame FF for the goal but hes made 2 fantastic saves too
-
Is Yoshida man marking Son? Worrying that this is 15 days of planning and coaching, seems a very shaky start and no clear game plan at all here?
-
1 nil defence all over place
-
Just hope Cáceres isnt on the reported 100k a week wages Thats 500k so far for doing nowt.
