Can confirm. Saw Maya around 3pm.

Assuming he has been offered a new contract, which he absolutely should've happened by now (given that he can be poached in 6 months by a foreign team), I suspect that is probably the case. He's always seemed pretty comfortable being 3rd choice though, but I guess most players grow tired of it eventually (Stuart Taylor aside!). Edit: You only have to look at Jonny Evans rejected £18m bid to realise it's a must (not that I'm saying Maya is better/par with Jonny Evans, but they're both probably starting CBs for lower(ish) Prem clubs)

Guan was on here the other day too

Has Gary Neville made any comment about either of these respective transfers? Obviously none of us need a football commentator to tell us how to think, but it'd be a welcome change to hear from someone within the football community who isn't a delusional tw*t.

It's our prerogative to be as "greedy" as we f*ckin' like HTH, Danny.

What's the deal with the new SM membership fee/period arrangement? 2 weeks. Is that transition permanent? I notice the yearly/monthly prices/options are still listed on the site, just not on the subscription/payment page, so presumably that's just a case of the website literature having not been updated (to reflect the two week memberships ).

Or you'll eventually accept that Puel is gone

This. Pleased with the performance today....but Tadic as a long-term no. 10? No, thanks. He'd obviously get some goals there, but I think I'm correct in stating that he's expressed a preference for getting assists, rather than goals, and a goal-scoring midfielder that does not make (in terms of rationale/motivation).

Not sure why Carragher is coming in for as much stick as Rednapp. I listened to their debate on Sky and he seemed fairly balanced (not completely unbias, of course). Perhaps I've missed something though. Rednapp is on another level though, agreed, always has been. Plonk.

Removing ability from the equation entirely, we're talking about a guy who has barely featured in 3 years, namely because he's been injured. The word chronic comes to mind (although I obviously hope he's got for the sake of his career )

Reminds me far more of Dele Alli! Well, some of those runs/the way he moves with the ball from deep/central positions do anyway. Seemingly capable of being quick/very direct Looks like he has a motor too. Eager to see how he performs.

Sorry for your loss. All the best moving forward

Secret telephone conversation from VVD to his Agent.

Aren't you supposed to be dead? -
How is it going to be thrown away?

Thanks for info

If any potential player was that concerned they could quite easily a) sign a shorter contract initially, and b) not extend the duration of said contract whilst here. Any player thick enough not to understand that concept deserves whatever's coming to them (.....millions upon millions of pounds poor things)

Exactly Really don't understand the attempted analogy with Puel. A club's commitment to a player/manager is financial, whereas a player's/manager's commitment to a club is offered in years/services. We want their years, they want our money. As far as Puel goes, he was paid the entire amount of his wages (or thereabouts, I imagine) and thus our commitment to him is technically fulfilled/honoured. He wasn't screwed out of anything he was owed...he was owed money, and he got it. Players/Managers are the only parties who owe years. Edit: I think I'm too tired to be making the point I was trying to make

"it is with regret" What a despicable lying grade A c*nt. Heart - Let him rot a year. Head - Fine. Then sell (only because I literally can't see him playing for us again now - crowd, board relations, etc).

Ulrich is ITK as it gets when it comes to flights

Interesting quote from what is presumably a Juve fan on a Guardian article about the transfer... "When Juve signed him from Marseille, the latter were flat broke and desperate to sell. Weirdly, there had been rumours of teams like Liverpool being prepared to pay much more, but they came to nothing. He'd have played more last year, but Juve changed from 3-5-3 to 4-2-3-1 and he found it hard to secure a spot against Pjanic, Khedira and Marchisio, mostly subbing on for Cuadrado on the right wing. His best position is more defensive, or box-to-box though; I'd guess the right side of a three-man middle. If he were English and had played more, you'd be paying twice this price. He's tenacious and versatile but also surprisingly technically accomplished, with a goal-of-the-month every season. We'll miss him and you'll like him" First few lines in response to a comment about his value having doubled in a year in spite of lack of starts/etc. Should note that there are less than flattering opinions of him too

Niiiiiiiice. Was not expecting that. As others have said, appears to fit the profile of what we need almost exactly. Amazing how much more balance one signing can bring to a team.
