I think that some of the points in Saints_is_the_south's post can also be levelled at Poch whom many thought had no plan B. Knowing the Board's attention to detail, I would imagine that they have fully researched the candidates strengths and weaknesses.

In an ideal world - yes, but if there are any players that we have a 'gentleman's agreement' with (thinking Wanyama) or any players that are toxic to the club (e.g. Lovren) then we can get rid of them - at the right price.

At the moment, the perception of the media and other clubs is that we are a selling club and that is because they do not understand, or want to understand, our way of doing things (and yet they are happy to praise Spanish clubs that work in a similar way). We are certainly not weak when it comes to getting fees for our players either.
