  1. For me we need a real line-leading centre forward, we’ve never been the same since we lost Pelle. Appreciate Pelle wasn’t the most mobile so may not have been ideal for Ralph, but someone who is quick but powerful with it is a necessity imo. No surprise that we’re linked with Che Adams because from the little i’ve seen of him that’s what he can bring, a real tough opponent for any defender. Austin, Ings, Long do not have the presence to be a consistent threat in this league imo.
  2. Ings off for Romeu, shore up midfield, stop Noble looking like Modric and free up Lemina to get forward and support a three of Moi, Armstrong and Long. Redders on for any of the three soon as well.
  3. Valery was ****ing brilliant I thought, how on earth did Cedric keep him out of the team for so long. Prowsey also excellent, and congratulations to Shane Long for completely transforming his form of the last couple of years and being back to being a real (unrefined) pain in the arse for the opposition, really pleased for him. A game that completely summed us up this season, the first 20 minutes was as good as i’ve seen us play in years, we were incredible, they didn’t leave their half until the goal. Hey ho, we did it, we go again next year.
  4. Which obviously is a terrible stat, but to put a positive spin on it (and why i’ve always maintained we do have quality in this squad even during Hughes’ tenure), that’s a hell of a lot of times we’ve taken the lead in games. **** players don’t go ahead against teams as regularly as that. There’s a fragility that needs serious work, rather than quality imo.
  5. Thought Stephens had a good game but i’m sure someone will blame him for the equaliser. Yoshida good as well. Prowsey very good. Lemina nice and tidy when he came on as always and two absolutely top drawer saves from Gunn. Not sure why people are criticising Valery coming on, did some good bits defensively and allowed JWP to be further forward where he was very good. Plus, Ings would’ve done **** all like normal apart from give the ball away.
  6. Mike Dean is a ****, and so is Tony Gayle
  7. Unbelievable cross from JWP, just slightly too far ahead for Long to connect properly
  8. Agreed, he’s ****e
  9. Let’s not forget that we’re level on points with a **** poor Brighton side, there’s 3 in this fight not just us and Cardiff. A point against Wolves would be fine.
  10. About 4 lads sat behind me didn’t move all night, definitely Liverpool fans. As mentioned though, cause a scene and you’ll get banned.
  11. I was just coming on to see if anyone saw this, definitely no flag from the lino, ref clearly pointed to goal kick and then after Henderson got in his face he gave a corner. Bizarre. As for the Van Dijk incident, yes the referee ran with his arms out saying advantage to Saints before calling it back for a foul on Van Dijk. Another very strange, extremely weak referee in this pool of absolute hopelessness.
  12. As mentioned above, appears to be second choice striker now for the short term. Wouldn’t surprise me if this was a warm up for him starting at Liverpool. Ralph likes to throw players in the deep end and he’d be much more of a nuisance than Austin in that game, as Austin hardly touched the ball against Spurs.
  13. Still riding the new manager bounce imo. He’s the new Carlos Carvajal.
  14. It may be cost cutting, but these managers (Poch is another) do like to use fresh youngsters who they can mould into their type of player. Ralph isn’t going to be signing 28 year old experienced PL players to then try and transform them into players that can press from the start.
  15. I would ****ing love Mitrovic, gives everything, great with his back to goal, great attitude for the team when under the right manager (not Rafa) and never seems to miss games.
  16. Long did well, stretched Spurs and put in two great balls which created both Redmond’s chances that he should’ve done better with. He’s had a tough season but he helped begin the swing of momentum along with Sims yesterday, and Armstrong carried it on when he replaced him.
  17. The most amazing thing is that Danny Rose, an expert diver and feigner of injuries, after diving over Valery/Romeu quickly got back up and ran off without an appeal as he knew he’d dived and didn’t want to get booked. Yet to his amazement, he got a free kick and got his opponent booked! Unbelievable! They say you can tell by player reactions, and this was as clear as any i’ve seen.
  18. Is Hojbjerg playing?
  19. Anyone got a stream that doesn’t have Tony Gale on co-comms? Absolute ******. Main commentator says ‘great noises here’ he replies ‘yep you can tell Spurs have come to town’.
  20. Virgin Media’s idea to subsidise away fans had to be one of the dumbest things i’ve ever seen a company do. Surely we can get a tonne of money from someone who won’t be as stupid as that.
  21. Him and Austin always have a great understanding, his cross to Austin that resulted in the corner we scored from was absolutely timed to perfection.
  22. Not sure JWP is a great example to use! He gets hammered for anything and everything.
  23. Crazy that people don’t think Brighton are in this with us. They seemed miles away from us at one point, now a win tomorrow would take us level on points.
  24. A real shame for all the talented English youngsters he’s brought through at Leicester, be interesting to see which Championship sides they get loaned out to next year
  25. This is a Brighton side that lost 4-2 to Fulham
