  1. I’d imagine most would point to the fact that he would have used his foot to score if he hadn’t been bundled over by the defender and goalkeeer, to be fair.
  2. If you compared it to the throw-in Valery was booked for against Huddersfield, Fabianski was taking an eternity
  3. As long as we bring in a half decent replacement, there aren’t many i’d be more pleased to see the back of than Cedric
  4. West Ham just did a job on us. Happened under Poch, happened under Koeman. Sometimes, no matter how effective your game plan may be against most teams, some managers are just good enough to stifle it. From the off you could see we were slower moving the ball, McCarthy’s distribution much slower, because West Ham knew exactly what we wanted to do and stopped it. Ref was shambolic, allowed them to waste time from the first minute so they could slow us down and break up play, anyone who was at Huddersfield on Saturday saw Valery (?) get booked for one throw in that wasn’t even that slow, and yet West Ham got away with absolutely everything last night. As for Carroll, ****ing hell im glad we don’t have him in our team, would find it extremely difficult to enjoy watching us if we did. An absolute thug of the highest order and astonishing that he wasn’t booked, I still can’t believe it now - I had to go home and rewatch all the incidents after the game and they were actually even worse than I thought in the ground!!
  5. People can think what they want about Charlie Austin, but you’ll notice he’s the first one with his arm around the youngsters every single game. Even back when Sims made his debut I remember Chaz posting about him on social media. That sort of leadership and encouragement for the youngsters can be invaluable.
  6. Great! Thanks for that
  7. There was a song going round today to the tune of the ‘ohhhh Balotelli, he’s a striker, he’s good at darts, an allergy to grass but when he plays he ****in class’ one from his City days. Ended with something about Pompey and I think I heard Germany mentioned. But I couldn’t for the life of me work out what it was. Sounded really good though.
  8. “What worries me is a player who reported serious depression and addictions to this man a few years ago was seen as weak and a liability. No support given. But hey... another day, another obvious decision. Morality stays away.” The quote of a former footballer on Twitter. Player referenced was a Saints player at the time apparently. Not a Reed hater by any means, but find that very sad to read if true.
  9. Was Jermaine Wright black?! I was quite young when he was in his prime killing it for us but never realised that! Mane was bloody lazy too, apparently.

  11. Not really sure why he gets labelled as not trying, i’d imagine he probably covers the most ground in most of our games. He’s by far our best player. The above comment about Hojbjerg contributing more to wins, well he also contributes heavily to many losses by giving the ball away to the opposition. Mario is a class above imo, and £30mil is way below his value in this market.
  12. Actually thought watching us play early balls today was encouraging for Gabbi, he’s been desperate for the early pass for about 2 years
  13. Also pretty sure we avoided yellow cards that would result in bans?
  14. Amazing. Every single player made a significant contribution to that game. Long and Austin on to combine for the winning goal was fantastic, so pleased for both of them, particularly Charlie who I think has taken the brunt of our frustration when not really deserved. A clear plan and a huge confidence boost for Huddersfield next week. Amazing what one game can do.
  15. We may not hold on but what a signal of intent for the upcoming huge games. Great to have Long on the bench to keep the intensity up later in the game! Presume that’s why the youngster is on the bench too!

  17. Not the team I expected at all!
  18. I agree. Play to his strengths and he could be vital to us, he was exceptional in that season under Puel. Really hope he can find that form under Ralph.
  19. If Romeu is back to being the shield for the back 4 like he was under Puel, then for me he definitely starts. But yes is he's expected to do anything more than that then I'd be sceptical. I have a feeling Ralph will deploy him in that role he had under Puel though. Think Long may start too if he's fit enough, get in their faces from the off.
  20. Whether his been at his best or not, he’s still in our top two best players by far alongside Lemina. He’s the perfect modern day full back, can attack and defend in equal measure. Horrendous CB pairings and goalkeepers do not help his perception among the fans.
  21. Looking forward to going into a side against a big team and not just sitting and waiting to get beat. Hopefully we’ll take it to what is going to be a makeshift defence and play on the front foot. Appreciate this depends largely on a couple of our injured players returning, but if that’s the case then no reason we can’t take the game to them.
  22. What was his excuse between December and February every year under Koeman?
  23. Tadic was ****ing dreadful from the moment Koeman left, until the Bournemouth game last season. He was a huge part of the problem we had last season, no pace, taking too long to release the final pass and constantly rolling around on the floor instead of tracking back and helping the team. I've also no doubt he was a big part of the reason Pelle would go on his winter droughts every season, because Tadic would have one too and he was Pelle's main supply. Let's not re-write history, we would not be much better with the Tadic we had last season. I'm pleased he's doing well for Ajax, and I hope it continues, he was great under Koeman, but he was as poor as anyone after.
  24. Or he could ask to play for the U23's to get MATCH FITNESS, by playing a MATCH. That'd show willing, rather than just moaning about training. Oh wait, he did that...
  25. Norwich I think? Midweek evening game
