  1. Thank god none of our transfer dealings get revealed this way, what a ****
  2. Medical done according to Twitter, may hear an announcement by the end of the night
  3. Do people really think this was the reason he didn't play? He's ended up at West Ham. Perhaps the club thought 'why let this guy who doesn't want to be here, play in our biggest games, when we've got someone giving their all for the club who with a good run of games could be ready to be his replacement when he goes in January'?
  4. I was at that Brighton game in with the home fans and at the goal opposite where Jose scored, what a moment.
  5. Twitter reporting that it's all agreed and could be announced today medical permitting
  6. Sign him in the hope he finds great form and then flog him to China for a ridiculous fee in the summer, suits our model perfectly!!
  7. The funny thing is, for years people were moaning that they'd take a drop in league positions in exchange for a good cup run (myself included). Now that's exactly what's happening, suddenly everyone is in meltdown.
  8. Never rated him at all, looks like he's never seen a football before when it arrives at his feet. But if he can head, tackle and run fast (which I think he can) then Virg will do the rest for him. £20mil however, is absurd. They don't want him, they're paying his wages, a loan suits both parties. Loan him, play him, put him in the shop window, they save wages and perhaps get the £20mil from someone else in the summer and we get a decent CB option to see us until the summer.
  9. I would actually like Berahino but I can't disagree with your point. Benteke and Bony both proving we did well to steer clear!
  10. Haha Ollie Lancashire there's a blast from the past. Guaranteed own goal or red card in almost every game. Now we possess one of the best centrebacks in the game, how things change aye.
  11. I've only seen him play a few times myself, i'm not saying he's the answer but I definitely didn't have a problem with him before his injury and it's strange that some do have when even if they did see him play before his injury they probably can't remember what he was like!
  12. I appreciate he has been out for so long, so may not be reliable, but many are saying he's terrible and not good enough for us, whereas before his injury he certainly was deemed good enough to be a back up. The club may have seen enough since his injury to decide he's not up to it anymore, but in my opinion the fans won't have.
  13. But he doesn't want to play for us anymore, there's not much we can do
  14. Am I imagining that Gardos was our backup CB until a really bad injury or are we just pretending it wasn't the case and he's just another Vegard Forren wasted transfer? Seem to recall him coming on for Toby at Old Trafford very early in the game and playing really well and helping keep a clean sheet. I just don't know who's supposed to be **** and who's not anymore
  15. Love how so many are finding a way to blame this whole scenario on Puel somehow. It's clear things have not been right with Jose since he stepped foot in Staplewood after the Euro's. No big spread from the club about our club captain winning an international tournament? No celebration of his achievements where we could lap up our role in his development as a player? There's no way we'd pass up an opportunity like that unless something went wrong somewhere, and Puel had barely stepped foot in the door at this point, but somehow it's his fault. Jesus wept.
  16. Shaw's perfect for Conte's wing back position
  17. This is certainly a theory I subscribe to. Boufal's signing was what emphasised it for me, I knew nothing about the guy but I saw loads of other club's fans on Twitter amazed that we'd managed to sign such a talent, so I thought maybe it's because we sell ourselves on the idea that you can get a big move after us. As long as we keep attracting the Van Dijk's then I guess it's a pretty good idea, but it's if we start to get more of the Højbjerg and Juanmi's that it'll start to hurt us.
  18. Just amazing that he probably got paid to write that. "I think my ex team should sign the best defender in the league", wow, thanks Jan, groundbreaking stuff.
  19. He did tweet last night how he'd done his bit in the form of his sale, and then subsequent sell on fees to be fair to him. I know that's not from his own pocket but I guess he might feel he can't chuck money at something that may have been mismanaged on the back of big fees that were the result of his success. They're not a charity. (I know nothing about Poole so I am making some assumptions here, sorry to anyone who will tell me I'm wrong!)
  20. Been having a debate with a Liverpool and now a Saints fan since last night on Twitter. In my opinion, although possibly interpreted as such, this is not a Hillsborough chant, they're just known by everyone as being victim's in every situation. Suarez being banned for racially abusing Evra was somehow unfair, things like that, they just think the whole world is against them when it couldn't be further from the truth.
  21. I was pleasantly surprised to hear Jamie Redknapp make a point of how good we were in the studio last night, also noting how we've not been very good lately, when I was fully expecting him to just focus on Liverpool's performance.
  22. Forgot to add Clasie to my list of players who are often criticised but were fantastic tonight, i've never been convinced by him myself but tonight he was everywhere, top performance
  23. I know there's a long way to go but that was absolutely brilliant, if Koeman had been in charge everyone would be saying he'd done a number on Klopp. Twice the highest scorers in the Premier League have come to St. Mary's this season and haven't scored a goal. Masterclass from Claude Puel. Buzzing for him, Redmond, Yoshida and J-Rod particularly, all have taken stick in their own way and all were absolutely top draw tonight (as were the usual suspects). COYR!
  24. Just remember, whether you're optimistic or pessimistic for tonight, take solace from the fact that we won't have Steven Caulker in the team tonight.
  25. What would you suggest as the alternative? Seems the team picks itself a bit tonight to be honest
