I first heard David Bowie when I was a kid and unfortunately, despite my brothers both being big fans, I could not forget the first song of his I heard. It is the first thing I think of, every time people claim he was a genius. He wasn't. It is without doubt the worst record ever released and should be required listening for anyone that needs some balance to the gushing reviews of his body of work. Feel free to listen here.

Another heavy smoker dies too young. He could write ditties but couldn't manage to read health warnings. Shame for his family and others who needed him to live a long life.

Southampton the 6th best city to live in...
Guided Missile replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Lounge
Southampton is the best city in the world to live in and also has the best football team in the world. Anyone who disagrees with this is a skate.... -

Cue Osvaldo and the beginning of the end for Cortese...

This old poll sums up what the bunch of sheep on this site really thought when Cortese threatened to resign, before he was pushed. As I posted at the time:

I was at Anfield when we beat them 1:0 and were applauded off the pitch, a couple of seasons ago, so that's complete b0ll0x...

How to manage austerity in a caring society

Is it the government's fault that many of those that are poor and homeless are in that situation because of the abuse of drugs and/or alcohol? Just asking.... -
How to manage austerity in a caring society

You need a caring society to have a caring society. It's nothing to do with whether politicians care about society. All they care about is votes. Anyway, in the end society gets the government it deserves. We have done nothing to deserve a Labour government. -

I am praying that Jezzer will join forces with UKIP and the Tory right wing to help get us out of the migrant camp that is now the EU and as a consequence, the Jocks vote for separation to take control their dwindling oil income. These two events will give us annual savings of £6.7bn for the EU exit and a parting gift of £17 bn from Scotland. So that's an additional £23.7 bn a year Britain can spend on the NHS, education and defence, instead of spending it on the ungrateful Jocks and work shy tax dodgers from Southern Europe.

Jezzer is pretty uneducated and totally brainwashed, like many beardy lefties, who leave any common sense they possess at the door of the union hall and revel in a group Marxist therapy session. One thing he is not, unlike many of his comrades, is a totally unprincipled hypocrite, which is what the other candidates obviously are, as the vast majority of the leadership voters could clearly see. The other thing he is not is unrealistic and deluded, qualities which are eroded by old age. No, he is aware he is simply going to be the mouth piece of the Marxist fringes of society, who have spent the last 25 years watching the total disintegration of their political theories. All hastened by a better educated and informed voter who wants more out of life than the possibility of having their hard earned wages garnished in ever increasing taxes of by socialist pedal pushers like him who have never had a proper job in their lives, but simply want a re-distribution of wealth from the middle classes to the benefit classes. I voted for him because he will, at regular occasions and in bad tempered exchanges, have the opportunity to demonstrate to the British population, exactly what the left wing and their union bosses, have to offer to Britain. I also predict that consequently the Labour party will split, yet again and the centre left will join the Lib Dems to form a Social Democrat party, with Jezzer and his chums returning to the Monster Raving Looney fringes, where they belong.

Related, I assume, to the fact that his husband is a Saints fan. (...well, from Southampton) -
What is great about this, is that anyone with three quid can participate and feel a part of the banishment of the Labour party to the political wilderness for the next 10 years. At last, this bunch of hypocritical career politicians and their union dinosaur chums will be able to demonstrate that they are all neo-Marxist ideology with no grounding in the new realities of the classless society we have in the UK, from a position where they can no longer do any further damage to the economy and society in general. The Tories will set about representing the new, socially mobile, working/middle class and make a difference, if they have any sense and Jezbollah will be skewered weekly at PM's question time if we can get him elected leader. A slow death to this horrible political party that brought us financial ruin, child abuse in Rotherham and an uncontrolled immigration policy, is all they deserve.

If I can antagonise just a few people in this crazy old world and help bring some vitriol into their lives, then I've done my job and that makes me happy.

To be fair, there's no real difference between the Republican Party in the US and the North Korean Ruling Party of Kim Jong-un. Ask any of the starving North Koreans and they will just tell you it's nothing more than semantics, as they eat another plate of grass....
