A minor lesson in practical economics. If the minimum wage was raised to £9 for 21-24 year olds, youth unemployment would rocket. Still, when you're on Planet Corbyn where economics is based on beliefs, not financial reality, then you'd put up with high youth unemployment. Socialism always thrives on discontent and an opposition Labour party and their whore masters, Unite, would love that.

They're right. The Conservative Party will double childcare hours to 30, increase the minimum wage to £9 by 2020, guaranteed an £8 billion increase in spending per year above inflation by 2020 for the NHS and promised to invest £18bn in building new schools. Let's face it, in one budget the Labour Party has had the midfield snatched from it and only have the left touchline to run up and down, while complaining to the lino. I don't see them scoring many goals that way...

Just a quick heads up. You may not have noticed, but the "class" system is finally dead in the UK. Apart from dinosaurs like you, no one gives a sh! t about it any more. It's been replaced by the social mobility the Tories offered voters at the last election. The only mobility offered by Labour was of the downward variety.

I take no money from the charity I am chairman of, even for expenses. I just happen to think that's unethical.

Oooh, a champagne socialist...a vanishing breed as most of them can't live with the hypocrisy, any more. Socialists in this country will slowly morph into Democrats, as they have in the US, where self made wealth is something to be admired, not resented and envied, and their politics are almost indistinguishable from the Republicans. Socialist politics isn't dying, just the politics of envy.

I didn't really need to read that article to agree with you that Corbyn would be perfect. Such an outcome will mean that Socialism in this country will go the same way as the Soviet Union. Broken and discredited, it will become less and less relevant to young people and be replaced by the conservative ideals for working families that aspire for a better life. If we can ever revive the Big Society that was born in the 2010 Conservative Manifesto, I'd be over the moon. This inspired me to do community work and when you've got money, you can do so much more. Creating wealth, that's the secret to a better society.

The trouble is, under Labour there would be no money to help those struggling to get by. I think you lefties all need to go to Greece and see how a real Socialist government can ruin a country. I don't see the poor migrants, those in real need fighting to stay in Calais. They're prepared to swim the Channel to live in this "Thatcherite/Blairite" stronghold and leave the striking dock workers in France behind...

Don't get me start on disability benefits. I say tax them. The majority of people claiming Disability Living Allowance are the middle classes, with incomes placing them in the top half of those in the UK. As far as the rest of your old chestnuts, I hardly think it was a socialist utopia when Gordon Brown was making every one of us worse off. What is it like being trapped in a socialist dogma, unable to better yourself, but forced to blame everyone else, I wonder?
