  1. Who is Dragan Slovak?
  2. Whilst we are still laughing at you for thinking that by giving that rumour your Turkish Seal of Approval you actually gave it some weight. It probably carries the same veracity as the dreaded vote of confidence given to football managers from their Boards. 😉
  3. Tella talked about the influence that Walcott has had on his development. You may recall the moment he scored and ran to celebrate with Walcott who was a sub at the time. If the young players are saying the old pros are beneficial to them, who are we to tell them otherwise?
  4. What is amusing Turkish is the way you manage to either turn virtually every thread into something about you, your petty squabbles with other posters and your constant need for attention, bless you. And before you state the obvious, yes I still have you on ignore but made an exception on this occasion and read a couple of your posts as I wanted to see how you would try and hijack this thread. I see you managed to get your dose of self importance in by giving a vote of confidence to the person from TUI who started this rumour a few days ago. Text book Turkish. Not to mention your Circle of Trust or whatever it is you call your list of ring kissers. You are truly an artist Turkish and if I wore a cap I would doff it in your direction. Keep up the good work. The internet needs more people like you to keep us amused. Oh, and if you have to explain a joke, it probably wasn’t worth making it in the first place 😉
  5. I think the only fact we can depend on is Turkish kissing his own ring!
  6. I don’t think we can assume that. It is possible that it had been completed but the club are waiting to announce it in their own time for whatever reason. It is also entirely possible that nothing at all had happened.
  7. The original post said that it “should be done by 29th/30th of this month”. This could mean that it hasn’t been completed yet or it has but the club are going to announce it in their own time (assuming it is happening at all).
  8. Just goes to show how people see the game differently. I thought Long played well yesterday and deserved the applause when he went off.
  9. Incredible. We take all 3 points off of West Ham after a battling performance and still some people feel the need to come on her and pick a fight. We won FFS! At least give the bickering a break until we lose again.

    Coronavirus

If your grandad was still alive and was more sensible than you, he would have the vaccine. If he is spinning in his grave now it is because he put his life on the line so that people like you can spread absolute bollocks to complete strangers on the internet with impunity.

    Coronavirus

You do know that the current vaccines are not brand new but are the product of years of work and have been tweaked to fight this particular virus? As for jumping when Johnson says jump, I doubt if anyone in their right mind pays any attention to the worst PM probably ever. I do think though that most rational people have weighed up the pros and cons and have made informed decisions, the main one being that the anti vaxxer conspiracy theories are total nonsense. If there is one thing to take away from the response to the pandemic it is this, that Darwinism is still prevalent amongst human beings.
  12. Still, at least we’ve got our country back 🙄
  13. I want a job where the work meetings consist of hanging out in the garden eating cheese and drinking wine. According to Raab it is all okay because they were wearing suits! 🙄
  14. It was a surprise because myself and the people I know of a liberal disposition feel that the party has more in common with the Labour Party than the Conservatives. If you recall the origins of the party came in part from a split from the Labour Party and the forming of the Social Democrats. Given the way that the LD vote fell away after Clegg’s dreadful decision I would say that I wasn’t the only one unhappy with the choice.
  15. More of an issue is the infighting in the Labour party between the Left and the moderates. They would prefer the Tories get elected than one or other side of the party get elected it seems. Starmer might not have a shedload of charisma but he is a solid, sensible character and would make a good PM. The far Left still side with Corbyn though despite him being an electoral liability. I have mostly voted LibDem but stopped when they handed power to the Tories which led to the nightmare of the last 11 years. I would like to see some kind of coalition between Labour and the LibDems and a concerted effort to get these awful people out of government.
  16. Great result. Hopefully this is the beginning of the end for Johnson and his woefully inept government.
  17. Absolutely! He has fallen off the radar a bit of late and I would hate for him to drop out of the picture. 😉
  18. Just as you feel the need to speak out against “pinkos” and liberals, so I feel the need to speak out against those firmly stuck in the days of the British Empire up to the 1970’s. The likes of Laurence Fox, Katie Hopkins and Tommy Robinson and their many enablers do not deserve a free ride.
  19. I think that you misread “are” for “have”.
  20. There seem to be a number of reasons. Some are expressing their anger because they are envious of the other person. Sometimes it is an Alpha male thing. Some like to make themselves seem more important by belittling others. Some were bullied as kids and are getting their own back by becoming bullies (and it is the easiest thing in the world to bully on the internet as the object of your bullying can’t get their hands on you). The problem with the way that our unregulated social media works though is that it plays right into the trolls hands. As they said in the programme, in years to come people will find it hard to believe that social media launched and operated for so long without regulation.
  21. There was an excellent documentary on BBC2 by David Baddiel about trolling on the internet last night. It looked into why there is so much anger and trolling on the net. Although he spoke to people on the receiving end, as he has been, the only downside was that he didn’t interview some trolls and ask them why they do it. There was an interesting section on how it is being used to destabilised societies though and suggested that we are in the midst of a cyber “war”. He also mention Tattle Life. For those who are not aware of it it is a social media platform mainly used by women that makes this place look like a Sunday school. They could chew up and spit out our very own WUMs and trolls without batting an eyelid. I spent some time reading it daily a few months ago and if you think all women are loving, caring, empathic human beings this will make you think again. Targets include Megan Markle (not surprising), influencers, WAGs, anyone famous plus anyone who sticks their head above the parapet. When a group of them decide they don’t like someone, it is brutal. Moving to another platform, a builder who had became famous via TikTok had his house firebombed, assumed to be by trolls, after receiving many threats and abusive posts. Brain scans showed how using social media affects our fight or flight reflexes. Baddiel came off social media for 3 weeks and his mental health improved, unsurprisingly. He did admit to being addicted to it though, as many of us clearly are. If you haven’t seen it I can thoroughly recommend it. It puts some of the posters on here into context 😉

    Coronavirus

My first two were AZ. I had a Moderna booster last Monday. Had hot sweats at night on Tuesday an Wednesday and felt a bit meh during both days but other than feeling that I had been kicked my a mule in my arm, no big deal. The worst reaction I had was with my first AZ jab when after 12 hours of the jab I was feverish and felt really crap for the next day. Spoke to a retired nurse yesterday who said that it is no bad thing to get a reaction to the vaccine as it shows the antibodies are kicking in.
  23. I think the point is Perraud is ok but KWP is a better left back than him and although there isn’t a lot in it, you could argue that Livramento is a better right back then KWP. Ralph has said that Livramento’s style of play makes him more effective from the RB position rather than wing back. Where else do you play him as he ought to be starting every game.
  24. I have just read a post by Turkish in your reply Badger so this is on you!! 😄 But thank you for putting his post into context. His strange obsession with whether he is being ignored or not springs from his narcissistic nature. Any attention is good attention to someone with A Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I will say it one more time as his understanding of the situation seems to be clouded by his overinflated opinion of his own self importance in a football forum. He is on my ignore list but I can still read his posts when they are quoted by others and you are able to chose to read posts if you wish by selecting the read post option. Occasionally I have read a post by him for the sake of continuity in the thread. I have always known that you can see who have posted an emoji so this supposed stunning revelation by our resident ego maniac is rubbish. I have no problem in him knowing if I have read a post by him. It doesn’t make me a liar. He is on my ignore list and has been for some time. Any mod can confirm that. At the same time I have never claimed not to read anything he has written. I am sure there are others doing the same. No big deal really, except to Turkish who desperately needs to hoover up attention. So hopefully we have cleared up this very unimportant issue and he will stop using me as an attention seeking device. Moving on…

    Coronavirus

What are you saying? That a virus that is known to mutate is mutating and that is something to be suspicious about?
