What are players supposed to say when their manager moves on? "Good riddance, he was a c**t?" I wouldn't read too much into any player quotes coming out at the moment.
-
Good luck Ron. I have a feeling you will need it and be added to the list of those who should never have left Southampton!

A player's transfer value has to do with a number of things, not just their ability as a player. If you follow football you would know that. In your case it is just another reason to have a dig at the club. -

As MLT recently said, players sign for clubs, not managers. If they signed for managers there would be mass exoduses every few weeks when managers are sacked. -
Ronaldo had chances that you would expect The Best Player In The World to score from. The fact that he didn't is the reason Portugal did not win. Not Iceland's tactics. Perhaps he should have a look at the playback?

That's what Amanda Holden used to say!

Whoever the next manager is, you can bet your life that they were our no.1 target all along. Just like Ron was Everton's no.1 target all along.
-
So you think we engineered all of the moves out of the club???

No, it now has its own special route in Liverpool and runs from Anfield to Goodison Park and back all day. -
Totally agree.

Huzzah and yay! Now lets build a wall around the British Isles to keep those pesky foreigners out too

I think our billionaire owner will remain a billionaire where as theirs could well be a millionaire soon

It isn't a competition! It doesn't let Pochettino off the hook. And Ron finished higher for than Poch (who still hasn't won anything). Still, with Ron at Everton and your big mate Pele possibly also going there, I am enjoying the irony of you wanting us to be more like Everton!

I don't blame the club for the statement. They were clearly expecting him to stay and sign and extended contract and then he did a u turn. It is his right to go after the money but I don't see why we have to wave our hankies at him and wish him a fond farewell. I imagine a lot of work has gone into planning for the new season and we will have to pick up with someone else now. I think I would be pretty hacked off if I were Les and the Board. Reading between the lines (and the statement wasn't too subtle about this) I would say that the statement backs up some the rumours we heard the other day and the club are looking to get back to their principles which seem to have slipped a bit under Ron.

Goodbye Ronald and thanks for the memories. Ok, who is next?
-
Not on tonight's performance he isn't.
-
But he was a relatively successful "knob" and popular with the fans so it would have been difficult to get rid of him having just finished 6th. As the post says though, when he started to use the offer from Everton to up his anti he overestimated his value to the club for all of the reasons given.
-
As Chelsea have just found out to their cost. There are ways of going about performance issues.
-
Maybe because he achieved 7th and 6th places in difficult circumstances. He has done a great job here and even if they weren't happy with some of his methods why wouldn't you want to keep for for another couple of years? How odd would it have looked if they had just said goodbye under these circumstances. Perhaps you should be asking yourself instead of why offer him an extension, why not do more to keep him?

Not hated by all. And you certainly don't have to be popular to get results. Just look at Cortese's time with us.

Seconded. Everyone should read it!
