There was a perfect example of what Starmer is up against on Questuon Time last week. Tim Stanley from The Telegraph told us that the media is “overwhelmingly left wing” and was not challenged on his ridiculous statement by Fiona Bruce. This far down the line I am surprised that this needs to be explained (again). I thought that most people understood that of the 43,000 plus people killed so far, most are innocent civilians rather than combatants. This has puzzled me for a while. We used to have appraisal meetings with staff where we discussed perceived strengths and weakness and what could be done to improve any areas of underperformance. You would expect the senior management to sit down with him and talk about performance and what needs to be done to change things.
