Interesting story Whitey. I worked with someone for 22 years. We both worked our way up to management positions and he eventually made me redundant. I'd like to know where this stuff about Ronald is coming from. There is an assumption that he is frustrated. You would need to be made of steel not to be hacked off about starting a season with a couple of key players and waiting weeks to get the CB you want, but does anyone know for certain that the man is frustrated with the club? Yes he was up tight after the European game but I thought that was down to their blatant time wasting. I am sure he also get hacked off with the press running stories about players leaving when he has clearly said that no one else is going. That is different to being frustrated with the club though.

Have I missed something or do we sell our best players every year? It happened last year and to a lesser extent this year but I don't believe there is a plan in place to ship people out wholesale ever year. If the current squad are as rubbish as some posters would have us believe no one will want our players next summer anyway! On a more serious note, if a top 4 club comes in for a player with one year left on his contract, what is the club supposed to do?

You have been on here long enough to know that Lallana got plenty of stick for his performances on our way up to the Premiership. Where were Liverpool then. I said his performances were patchy. You still haven't responded to you comments about Pelle being pants and a decent striker. Which is it?

He you ever played with a groin strain? It isn't fun even when it isn't "really bad" and I certainly wouldn't want to play with any kind of long term injury like that in the cauldron of the Premiership. He showed plenty of quality when he started and has over 25 caps for his country so I am sure he is not a complete donkey. Maybe his loss of form has something to do with not playing him in his best position as well as his physical problems? Who knows. But I still think the guy has done enough to show that he can play at this level.

Go back and read all of the criticisms about him over the years. There wasn't a great deal of interest in his signature from the big clubs until the 13/14 season. And do you care to qualify your quote about Pelle being pretty pants and then a decent striker in two sentences?

One minute you say Pelle is pants and then you say he is a decent striker? Anyway, he can clearly play but strikers are only as good as the service they get. He did seem to lose confidence for a while last season but he will score goals again this season. There is clearly something not right with Tadic. The groin problem didn't help him last season and now there seems to be something else amiss. Clearly has quality and we need him back to his best. The comparisons with Lallana I don't get. I remember Lallana getting plenty of flak on here and in the end he only really had one decent season for us - the rest was very patchy. Mane was written off by many last season but has shown that he can worry Premiership defenders. He will be off for big money at some point in the future so enjoy him while you can. Feel sorry for Long. It is not his fault that we paid £12m for him and if we have paid £8m I doubt if he would get the stick that he does now. We are missing Bertrand. Quality player and more than adequate replacement for Shaw.

Sam is out of a job so needs to keep reminding people that he is a FOOTBALL GENUIS as his trophy cabinet no doubt attests. When managing himself I am sure he found these comments really helpful when others gave him advice and he now feels empowered to do the same himself. No doubt Ron and the club are rethinking their strategy for running the football club as we speak. Oh and Sam, I have some advice for you too. Maybe your jury is still out, but I still maintain that he has shown that he has plenty of Premiership quality and I for one am not going to diss him just because he lost his form when clearly carrying an injury. How many great seasons did Lallana have by the way?

Tadic has proved he can perform at this level and his drop in form is odd. We need him back and firing on all cylinders asap. If he is not right he needs to be looked after and I am sure he will be.

Indeed. Every year I hope for the best but fear the worst but appreciate that what will be will be. Even though we had a storming season last year that want good enough for some who continued to have digs at the club or certain players. I guess some people are never satisfied. Just three games in with big injury problems and still waiting for a new CH yet some seem to have written the season off already. I agree that we haven't set the world on fire yet and maybe we wont at all this season. Ron clearly has some work to do and at some point our luck with injuries has to get better you would hope. Things are still SO much better than the years we were in a downward trajectory. Staying competitive and in the Prem is a tough job for clubs outside of the top four. This was never going to be a doddle and every season the club has to start the marathon all over again - facing all kinds of problems and issues. We did really well last season but mostly in the first half of the season. Our form did tail off so, even without losing certain players there was no guarantee that we would be up there in the top four again.

I did hear he is on £75k at QPR so wages could well be the reason.
