Yes I would. At the very least would you feel bad about what you had put your girlfriend through? Check out what he and his family have been putting the victim through to. I am surprised he hasn't been done for contempt of court on top of everything else.
-
And if they rape people they should expect to end up in court.
-
Of course he could. He could say he was stupid for getting involved with a girl who was drunk. He could say he was sorry for putting his girlfriend through all of this. Don't forget he has admitted to have full sex and oral sex with this person. And I do understand how the legal system works. I work for the CPS.

Surely though Nicola for a boy!

The difference here Batman is that Evans is all over the press and hasn't shown one jot of remorse. Not only that he and his family have vilified the person he was convicted of raping.

Then thank God they spend a lot of their time at sea.

There was a lot of fuss about Dirty Den getting the job at the time but clearly his crime did not stop him having a successful acting career. As with most things I think financial pressure will force the issue one way or the other. If Sheffield united look to lose more than they gain they could well cut him loose. If so it would be interesting to see who would pick him up. Evans has done himself no favours with his attitude. Whether you think he is guilty of rape or not, he has had sex with someone he just met who was clearly the worse for wear and he has cheated on his loyal girlfriend who has to put up with all this grief - none of which seems to bother him in the slightest.

It is not difficult to understand the verdict if the girl was in no fit state to give consent. Taking advantage of someone who is too drunk to know what they are doing is no excuse.

There is a lot of footage that shows that she wasn't walking around normally. She lost her handbag. There seems plenty of evidence that she wasn't in control. Just because she wasn't unconscious doesn't mean to say she wasn't out of control. Neither of us was in court but clearly there was enough evidence a) for the CPS to bring the case to court and b) for the jury to find Evans guilty of rape. Maybe you think it is okay to stick your d*ck into someone who is off their face and that you have only just met? It sounds like you are hoping he will get off on appeal? Whatever you or I think, it is what the jury think that matters and they believe that the complainant was not capable of giving consent.
-
I saw that clip too. But have you read the account off CCTV on the Evans website? From that she was clearly in a state.
-
The thing is that no one held a gun against Evans' head and made him do this. He made a very bad choice and is now paying the price. Brings back memories of the Steve Moran incident many years ago whilst the Saints were playing abroad.
-
She has no memory of the event because she was either very drunk or drugged or both. That being the case how could she give consent if she was not in control?
-
Evans says she gave consent. I have just looked at his website and from what is says there the girl was very clearly off her face and not in control. Both of them took advantage of someone who was clearly very drunk. His mate was lucky to get off and they were both stupid. Whether her drink was spiked or not, they are both grown men and know when someone is not in control. I believe he posted a video of her walking into the hotel. From his own evidence prior to that she was all over the place.
-
At the very least it was a shabby act against someone who was clearly not in control of herself.

It is very difficult. I have worked with the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences unit for the CPS and it is not easy to get a conviction. Yes the system is far from foolproof but he has been convicted and as it stands is a convicted rapist.
-
The evidence must have been strong enough for the jury.
-
Difficult one but rape is a very serious offence. Would we be okay with a convicted murderer picking up his football career if he got out of prison early? I do think he should be allowed to work again but I also think that any professional football club should say we do not want anyone convicted of a serious crime playing for us. I know he is saying he is innocent but he has been found guilty and until such time as the conviction is squashed on appeal, he is still guilty.

Great performance in a Clockwork Orange. RIP.

I have a feeling that C B Fry and Hypochondriac are one in the same person.

Defenders still need to defend and he has been very poor. 6 yellow cards too.

RIP to all who gave their lives for their country. I lost both of my grandfathers in the Great War and an uncle in WW2 who was a Spitfire pilot.

I would pay a great deal of money for them not to make another record. Haven't we had enough of 1D already???

Many top managers prefer to stay with their league clubs rather than manage a national side. Let us hope that Ron is happy here and wants to see the job through. There will be plenty of time for the national job further down the line I expect.
