Isnt it time to name-and-shame "the group behind the scenes" ?

Which players? You make it sound like all of them but only Rikki has a problem. There is a difference between not playing well and not being fit. Are they any fitter or playing any better now? -

I don't agree. It would be like divorcing Cheryl Cole and marrying Danni Minogue. -

Or Hooes, or Hone? Could have been anyone but if NC is alluding to LM then it won't have been Lowe will it as there was no love lost between them and he was tight with the pursestrings as we know. My money would be on Wilde. -

Another conspiracy theory Alps? Where is the evidence that the pre-season was f**ked up? Not so long ago we were being told on here that Pardew didn't work the players hard enough - now too hard. Really which is is and why when you were complaining that they wern't worked hard enough is it okay now to slate him for making them work hard. Apparently Strachan ran the players b*lls off, was that wrong? Got us to Wembley and we got back there last season. Maybe there is something to making players work hard? -
I agree that if the CEO and manager aren't working in harmony then something has to give and 99.9% of the time that will be the manager. Whether Adkins is the better manager only time will tell. Embracing technology or no, it is results that count. Adkins can use all of the technology going but if he doesn't get us up it is worthless. There was no technology in the 60's yet players played ankle deep in mud week in week out and the treatment rooms were not where near as full as they are now. I accept that the game has changed but you have to ask yourself for the better? Where are the Paine's and the Davies's nowdays? Tery Paine would have played over 800 games if he was a pro these days.

Did what he say sound to you like we were pulling out all of the stops this season? -
Oh dear, so your opinion is valid and mine isn't? And as for you DD, don't you believe in freedom of speech. It seems that there are ceratin people you can slate on here and others you can't. If my opinions upset you so much then put me on ignore. Ask an adult to show you how to do it. Actually, whilst we are about it, do you think that the sacking of Pardew when he did made it more likely or less likely of getting promotion this season?

But don't forget DD, they are a BIG club. Can someone remind me again when they last won a major competition please? Perhaps Pards could get them a double relegation then win the Tin Pot Cup. -
Indeed. Whilst I would support some financial support for students who will makea contribution to this country in key areas in years to some but what we don't need is more Media Studies students clogging up photocopiers up and down the country. Or call centres. All that money on a degree and thy are doing jobs a school leaver could do.

Can someone please tell me the difference between "milking the club" and being paid for services rendered? I assume that to receive a payment there must be an agreement between 2 parties. One provides a service to the other for an agreed sum. I am sure these people do not just walk in, help themselves to to till receipts and walk out again. If NC doesn't feel that they are earning their cash then surely he needs to look at who made the arrangements in the first place? -
Once up I agree. The big question is how long will it take us to get into the Championship?

NO we shouldn't and you can get your mortgage that if Pardew was still here that would not be acceptable. Somehow it is now. You could argue why replace Hughton with Pardew, don't you go for someone better. Same with Adkins and Pardew. I think the only difference is that Adkins gets on with NC (at the moment) and Pardew didn't. Adkins has done a steady job but has hardly set the world alight and if he can't bring in new blood in January promotion this year is far from a certainty. -

Nail on head. Whatever you think of Pardew it was his neck and reputation on the line and how many times have we said let the manager manage and the CEO look after the money? He knew that he had a short time to get promotion and by the look of things went for it big time. Rather at odds to the detractors who were saying that he didn't care. I think Cortese made a big mistake this season. Well 2 actually. Letting him go and letting him go when he did. From what was said at the Nosh Charm Offensive it seems like promotion this year might not be as crucial as we were led to believe if it won't be until the summer until we go after the players we need. Hmmmm. My trust in Cortese was not high before and is even lower now. All the innuendo about having to sack him leading us to believe that maybe there was a grain of truth in some of the b*ll*cks being spouted on here has done him no favours. I'd have more respect for him if he had just said I want manager in who is going to do what I tell him to do. I would draw a comparison here with a former CEO but don't want to upset Jack Frost. As for Pardew, good luck to him at Newcastle, he will need it. Glad he got a Prem job (that must rankle with his detractors on here) and as has been said, he can't lose. If he turns things round he is a hero, if he doesn't he is minted. Feel sorry for Hughton but again, his bank balance will not suffer. And as for us. If things are solid with the family, why a Plan B (yes I know every company should have a plan B) but to mention it like that makes me wonder if everything is as solid as NC would like us to believe. If you you want players badly enough you find the cash to bring them in - all the excuses about why that would be hard mid season do not wash. Where were they last summer? Where were they before the loan window closed? Perhaps the players will be here next summer because we will have new owners then....just a thought. -
"If we can get promoted this year." Hmmmmm. I thought that was the reason that we brought a new manager in. That promotion would be a given this season. And now perhaps we won't get the players we need until the Summer? Sorry to **** on your chips Spudgun but doesn't this all seem a trifle odd to you? Great that you had a lovely evening and all but have you heard of the words charm offensive before? So then, the great man mention that there were lots of reasons why Pardew was sacked. Did you think to ask him for them or was it just because he worked the players too hard? Perhaps Pardew took Cortese's ambition too much to heart and wanted promotion this season? Oh well, he paid for that with a Premiership job so he must be gutted now. I hope you enjoyed the meal.

Could be Lowe, could be Wilde, could be Crouch, could be Hone, could be Hoos...........
-
In probably quite a few people's minds to be fair DD.
-
Given the stick you gave me about bringing up the Evil One's name recently why no censure for Derry?
-
There are plenty of people who haven't been involved with the club for a long time that get brought up, Ron Davies being one. Should we not mention him any more or is it only certain people we can/cannot mention?
-
I think "obsessive weirdos" is a tad harsh. Nothing wrong in wanting to know about the banning of someone who posted some eye opening posts surely?
-
No but you seem to have one with Lowe.
-
Then you should agree with me surely DD?
-
His posting style wasn't great and some of his comments were a bit full on, but he did post some interesting stuff.
-
Because people are interested and there comes the question of freedom of speech. Be honest wouldn't you rather read posts from people who seems to know stuff? I know Lefback had a strong anti Cortese agenda but then his reasons for that were interesting (or would have been if we had got to the bottom of them). Obviously if he is saying stuff that could cause legal problems that is an issue, but over the years this site has been home to plenty of slander and abuse, but to club officials, managers and players along with each other!
-
I see, thank you. If what someone says is factual though is that classed as libel? And where do we draw the line with slander?
-
Can you actually tell us why he was banned though?
