  1. Bet that's inaccurate. Don't forget credit cards don't want customers who direct debit in full each month. They want to attract people with a middle to low credit history. My guess is, apart from children > 85% of Saints fans have a credit card. Still, I think thats an aside. For me this debate all boils down to whether you can afford to purchase the product at the price the business are offering it. If you can't, then chose not to buy it. It's not like Council Tax (to use your analogy), you don't have to pay it. If you don't agree with the prices, don't complain on forums, vote with your feet and refuse to pay for the product.

He might get confused and march on Fr@tton again.
  3. Charlton concensus seems to be that he gives 100% workrate, and scores a fair few (although only 2 in 2010). They seem to think he hasn't dominated the midfield like they wanted him to, hense why he has been moved to the wing. His passing is frequently mentioned as a weakness. Value suggested around £400k, although one person suggested he'd be disappointed with less than £100k. Overall, most seem to rate him, but don't mind too much if he leaves.
  4. Interesting Charlton views on him here (especially page 2 onwards): http://www.charltonlife.com/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=34906
  5. One goal in every three games for a poor team? Canada's player of the year? Reports such as this: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2009/apr/07/steve-claridge-scouting-report-gillingham-simeon-jackson Linked with Villa, trialled by Man City & Man Utd. Simeon definately has something. He is not a replacement for Lambert, but could you imagine the two of them playing together?
  6. Not a direct replacement, and I know he's been mentioned before, but Simeon Jackson only has 2 years left on his contract now... and would probably go for around a million...
  7. Maybe, but if Dickson is the second best, IMO we should still sign him for competition.
  8. Apparently by 'uploading better pictures and comments'. As far as I can tell, when the teams play (in real life), the fans have an opportunity to upload 'funny'/'better' content. Then someone called 'gaffer' decides which of the two teams has provided the best material. Basically, you win by uploading the silliest photographs, preferably featuring a footballer (or Anthony Pulis). If there is gurning or fancy dress involved you might just change the 'gaffers' decision, and 'win' the game.
  9. I seem to remember a whole island suffering from the same problem... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8460089.stm
  10. Are you sure thats the question? As I think that only works out to be true when n is -4 Edit: think I'm wrong: (n+5)squared -(n+3)squared = 4(n+4) is true...
  11. Sorry to raise the thread, but a date has been set for the funeral for anyone interested: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8718002.stm
  12. But England win against the lesser teams and lose against the better teams, whereas Saints often beat the better teams, and then lose to some of the worst teams. England have a 'can't be arsed' problem. Saints have a 'we should walk this one' issue.
  13. You make a very good point. Wonder if there is some other cost difference - e.g. cost of phone lines, cost of purchasing online ordering system etc that might explain the fee.
  14. Good point, perhaps it should be. Wonder which method takes more time to process? Ticket office window only seems to take a few minutes... but then I guess I'm not stood there being indecisive about which seat to take like some would.
  15. Exactly... I find it crazy how it only takes a single rogue poster to start 3 or 4 threads and keep them going by repeating embarrassing drivel. I'm starting to think he is a Skate on a mission to give us a bad reputation.
  16. You are forgetting the cost of paying for the staff to take your phone call, or respond to your email. As mentioned on the other thread, £3 equates to under 15 minutes (wage + office expenses) for a person on £15k pa.
  17. The fee covers the wages, and office expenses (electricity etc) of the person handling the phone call, or the person who has to respond to your email. £3 works out to be about 15 minutes work (wages + office costs) for someone on about £15k pa. This charge has nothing to do with postage & packing. I imagine Cortese's reaction to 'this is a tax' would be 'don't pay it then'. Whether you like it or not, you have a choice whether you pay this fee, hence, it is not a tax.

I'm sure, that in the unlikely event that Cortese ever becomes aware of you, the feeling would be mutual.

What mistakes? Which misjudgements? I've heard hearsay, but seen no evidence.

    Cortese V Lowe

So basically you have heard some rumours, and decided to interpret all events relating to Cortese with a negative spin, despite all of the positive changes Cortese is introducing, and despite the lack of any substantial evidence to suport your vitriol. You sir are jumping to conclusions.

Pardew's reactions would depend upon what Cortese was saying to him directly. "Alan, ignore the press, your jobs perfectly safe as we are more than happy with your first season. I'm not going to respond to the press, as I don't have time to waste on silly speculation. Right, have you considered where you would like to strengthen the squad?"
  22. Joensuu

    Cortese V Lowe

Yes. I have seen no evidence to suggest Cortese was thinking of sacking Pardew. I'm sure he will start considering it if we underperform in the first few months of next season. Cortese doesn't like responding to media speculation. I respect him all the more for that. Why do you dislike Cortese?
  23. Joensuu

    Cortese V Lowe

That's just wrong. Cortese defended the club against the Echo. He didn't slag off either Tiss or Lawrie, he told them (quite rightly) not to interfere. Notice you didn't answer my question about your motives for slandering Cortese.
  24. Dune, what's your motive? Why (without any evidence) are you attempting to undermine the club? Skate? Wind-up merchant? X-Files fanatic?
  25. You're right. Since leaving saints, Clifford's Brazilian scoops have expanded across the globe. He's turned down offers of a role from Cardiff and Newcastle. Looks to me like he's gone from being a teacher to being a wealthy businessman in under ten years. Probably by luck more than training, some of his former students have gone on to make it in the Premiership. I think the jury's still out on his training technique, but as a business it looks like Clifford has been a huge sucess. Garford Town just avoided relegation back down to tier nine.
