Time will tell at Fulham but like most ex Saints players I like to see them do well even if it didn't work out at Saints.

It doesn't say he's signed as per every other site on the WWW so can't move on till he passes his medical and his signing is announced by Blackburn.

Can't find any confirmation he has actually signed for Blackburn ?? Mention of possible talks with Saints ....

I'll always remember the news item with Kevin Keegan signing for Saints with Lawie McM ! Such a top signing and he produced the goods during his time at Saints . Top person in football 😊

I gave up at half time , so many fouls by Argies were unpunished , when they fouled they rolled around claiming they had been fouled , pressing down on Spanish players shoulders when challenging for a header etc etc . In a proper run FIFA they would be charged fined and banned from future competitions .

Well this is exciting 😀 When is the Ref going to get a card out ? No doubt it'll be a Spanish player who gets booked as the Argies go down at the faintest touch .

I remember drinking Watneys Red Barrel all evening and not feeling remotely pissed ! Fosters was the tinny of the moment back then .

There was no pressure on in 3rd place playoff ,no one wants , match so it was refreshing to see 2 teams playing end to end football and the England players going home with joy and their heads held high , as they say.

I remember being keeper for the Victoria pub in Wye Kent , we played for a barrel of beer paid by the losers ! Playing the Market pub team from Ashford they were a bit Argentinian , their forward slid into my shins which was painful and said “sorry mate “ I was a bit cautious after that . Fortunately we won thanks to a skilful striker and yes the whole barrel of beer was drunk . The pub was sold and reconstructed a few years later but I still remember that tackle !

1. first half was more like cage fighting , sliding tackles followed by other leg swiping England players leg 2. Use of flailing arms at close quarters 3. fore arm smash to England players neck 4. constant pushing even when ball gone 5. Shirt pulling and grappling etc etc and what happened one yellow card . On here and the press it's like it never happened !!!! Not surprisingly Argentina actually have skilful players , when they want to be . As said previously England needed a fit squad and the best players but it didn't happen . I have learnt since 1970 3-2 loss after being 2 goals up against West Germany that it's best to not to get intense when watching England 😄

The Argies were obviously told to start playing a bit of football at half time , which they did . Messi may have slowed up but he still surprises the opposition by taking a different route than expected . Threading a ball between 2 defenders and receiving the ball back at the edge of the penalty area or mixing up corner routines.

Kane played his part as usual , dropping back and firing a few long balls to Rogers etc . The only reason to sub him would have been to get fresh legs on up front . He has done well in his last WC.

Thats his management style a bit like Brearley making Bob Willis bowl up the slope at Lords who then got fired up and took a load of wickets

I think the problems stem from taking players who were not 100% fit plus possibly a couple of players who weren't as good as those left behind . Saka , Rice , James all had injuries that affected their performance . OK Rice did well enough . Last nights match , the ref needed to get the cards out early on for Argentina and what's the point in VAR if it allows the level of cheating to carry on throughout the first half ? It wasn't just the blatant fouling , pushing , shirt pulling , use of arms , forearm smash to head even etc but the throwing themselves to the ground having committed the foul play to try and con the ref. Their manager obviously told them to try playing a bit of football at half time ! FIFA needs to improve the control of the game , take action against teams like Argentina who constantly harass the ref and commit endless fouls and cheat .

I just hope it's not another boring game , ok top skill levels and movement but a couple of shots on target in 100 mins of football ? Nearly as bad as Russball at it's worst 😄

Only2 shots on goal all game , that's why it's boring and one of them a dubious penalty ! England penalty not given for leg guarding the ball , Spanish player jumps in front of french player , collision and Spain get free kick ?

Some good skill but a bit boring I’m feeling …..
