I would suggest he needs careful handling and his rebirth may take some time , he needs personal coaching to understand he is part of a team . He needs to realise that assisting other members of the team is a good thing and just being on the pitch is not enough . He needs to understand that just waiting for an opportunity is not the way to go etc . Things he should have been taught at Saints , you could say if he dosen't fit in why bother but developing youngsters is important.

Another kicking for a club in crisis , obviously not Man C etc. Interesting that Newcastle have the the financial handbrake on along with the SA league and all major investment in SA due to change in oil price etc . People reluctant to tell the big man that things are going tits up .

He did well when he had a more aggressive phase , had Zaha in his pocket when Saints played Palace . Great free kicks , often praised/highlighted on Motd . I assume he has aged like all 30+ prem footballers , but being blanked by your manager must feel like being hamstrung (having your hamstrings cut with a sword to stop you escaping) . Not sure joining a doomed team will help his career but he can see out his WH contract and retire gracefully 🙂

From Motd Wolves had 17 shots and 7 on target but failed to score ! Bournmouth had 4 on target and scored 2 , not sure AA is the answer though 😃

Carrick with an excellent start at Man U 2 goals , 3 chalked off for off side and about 6 saves by City keeper ! I don't think there was any chance he would have come to Saints with 4 4 2 !!!!

I know that but the auto system wasn’t working so they had to draw their own lines !! My point is without var or if there is doubt when done manually or the ref has to look at what is presented to him pitchside rather than seeing the same endless screen shots then it’s Bollox and a goal . If the game had gone on without var there would have been no problem and I would have watched the rest of the game 😊

It didn't look offside in any screen shots they showed us , the auto system failed so it was back to guesswork . Remember the attacker gets benefit of doubt rule ? That should apply , not a rule is a rule even if it's 0.5 mm bollox .

But watching the FA cup games this week there didn't seem to be any glaring errors by the refs and no suggestion that VAR would have saved any of the games ! There were times when I thought an offside may have been looked at by VAR but importantly there didn't seem any protests by the players they just got on with the game . I'm mainly judging this from Motd and the odd live game but it made the game more enjoyable . Last night after the VAR debacle I lost interest in the game and gave up before the end so missed the last goal !!
