  1. I wonder if there is any chance we get back what we paid for Clasie. 8 million was quite significant at the time but in this inflated market..?
  2. Club record fee apparently - whats the previous record? Is it Gabbi?
  3. I hope the players are professional enough to not let that affect their performances on the pitch. He's not training with the first team, they are preparing the game against Swansea knowing he won't participate. I agree its not a ideal situation but, the club, the players and the fans have known for a couple of months that he wants to leave. The moment we decide that a player can force hes way out, even with a new 6 years contract signed a year ago, is potentially even more toxic.
  4. How can he be toxic, he's not even near the squad?
  5. Would be bad business selling VVD for 60 and then have to spend half of them on Gibson. Gibson is good and would suit the club, but 30 million is obscene for him.
  6. Fans turning against VVD. Perfect for bidding clubs..
  7. According to Wikipedia "A strong, hard-working, and dynamic right-footed midfielder, with good technique and solid distribution, Lemina is a box-to-box player who is usually deployed in the centre, due to his ability to start attacking plays after winning back possession." Sounds exactly what we need.
  8. This. Some fans are like a broken record and complain every summer about our lack of activity, still the club brings in decent players in the end. If people could just realize it will never be a "big name" signing like sigurdsson or Barkley.
  9. You take it for granted that we get the money that match our valuation for him and also we get a top class replacement. If that was the case we would surely have sold him at the start of the window. If VVD goes we take a huge risk and no gains since we can get same money if not more next year. It's nothing but stupid to sell now imo.
  10. I agree, club have to hold their nerve on this one. Only sad that VVD put himself in this situation. He has clearly not accepted the fact that we're not gonna sell him. I just hope this doesn't end up like the Berahino case
  11. Jeremy Pied looks like he can do a good job for us.
  12. According to a Celtic supporting mate we have made an approach for Nir Bitton.
  13. Cant wait for us to be seriously weakend?
  14. I don't blame Les Red if we sell Van dyke for over 70m. But i hope we do an schneyderlein/Wanjama and keep him one more year.
  15. First I don't agree that we don't bring in quality. Almost all of our recent recruits has great ability and huge potential but to expect to get a new Mane every time is nothing but wishful thinking. Second, looking at our accounts it's seems like we are living within our means. There is no pile of cash laying around or dividends to the owners, only market rate on our loans. Success is built on sound finances and slow progress. I don't think the club does everything 100% perfect but this "no ambition" argument is utter ******s IMO.
  16. I hate Liverpool more. Pompey is off the map sporting wise.
  17. Problem is 1. Liverpool doesn't wanna pay 75, else he would be gone already. 2. Sigurdsson has no reasons to join us. Probably going to spurs. 3. Selling now would make us look weak. VVD wants to leave, pool doesn't wanna pay our set price = VVD stays with a lemon face for a couple of weeks. He will get over it. Nothing is new really when thinking about it.
  18. I agree but he's way out of our league. Same goes for Sigurdsson, same with Wilshere, same with all hyped/well known players out there.
  19. Or the simple fact Tuchel wants to manage a CL club. Something hes agent said in public.
  20. How on earth could we miss out on him???. (Joking)
  21. There is no point, sporting och financially to sell this summer. We get the same amount (or possibly even more) next year. We have time to bed in Stephens and carefully choose our replacement. This attitude "just sell him if he wants to go" from some here is unbelievable..
  22. I get what you mean, but still think its a bit harsh. I support the team, and the team is nothing but the players in it. Money isn't everything but lets not trick ourselves that it doesn't plays an important role in all our lives and will always affect our life choices, football player or not. When the careers over you wished you took the best deal possible. For neutrals it would be a no-brainer for VVD to leave us, both for money- and sporting reasons. As long as VVD conduct himself in this saga i respect him and grateful for his contribution (and the big pile of cash he's gonna bring into the club).
  23. Yeah because we have just signed **** players since? VVD, Mané, Gabbiadini, Boufal (wait and see) etc etc..
  24. I wouldn't take it for granted, tn this super inflated market, to find a decent CB in our price bracket. We might end up with Yoshida and Stephens as first choice if we sell VVD. So its definitely not a "meh" situation to me.
