In my world it is as simple as this: Tell Liverpool we don't wanna do business unless they pay us way over the top (>75m) before X-date so we can find a decent replacement (Decent, not an average overpaid outcast like Sakho). Tell VVD we are not gonna sell him under any circumstances expect above. He can spit his dummy but it won't help because he's still gonna be here till next summer.

So you think we can sell VVD and pay wages and transfer fees for up to four quality players (CB, DM, AM, striker) that will need to be better than players we already got players. Very much doubt that. We don't need much more players IMO, we need to keep our best ones and get the best out of the ones we have.

Agree with all this. Yoshida has been a loyal servant, biding his time for his chance without complaining. He did a great job last season and has improved many aspect of is game. Not much signs of the mistake-prone Yoshida we have seen from the past. He loves it here, he wants to play here and truly deserves being first choice. Yoshida and VVD is a very good CB pairing. With Stephens and the polish guy as backup.

Just watched the interview with Matt Le Tissier. It seems like the club were prepared to give him another season IF he could change the style and be a bit more attack-minded. If so he would probably still be in charge. But clearly he didn't see anything wrong with how we played during the course of the season. With that in mind I'm baffled that there still a few in here that wanted him to stay.
