Sorry Pancake I did not make myself clearer. Yes we did get to the cup final in 2003 by winning four games at SMS so it was hardly jinxed.
-
Time to accept that it is unlikely we will go up
Pilchards replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
How can we give up on our team so easily? As people have said, sort our own team out and the results will slowly keep coming. Once you get some results then the players we have will be far too good for any team in this league.... Having a inform Fonte, Spider, Hammond, Puncheon, Lallana, Barnard, Harding, Richardson, Lambert and some good loanees will rip **** out of anyone! SIMPLE AS THAT -
Other than the Spurs game we had three easier home matches at SMS in our 2003 season. IMHO you should expect to win them games against lower division teams.
-
Not jinxed at all, put it down to lazy pre season training and the players not being fit to wear the shirt at the start of the season, this causes the fans jumping on the players backs which makes them too nervous to hold the ball longer and playing passing football.

How to win on Saturday. Two new loan players in on Thursday, The players then have to come in on rest day to watch a DVD on where we can improve. Then NA takes them on the pitch to do some simple set pieces that will of been noted by our scout on Colchester. Friday, nice and early please for training as NA has them getting used to our new flank football as our new loanees get to the bar line everytime. Friday afternoon, set pieces re-run until the thick ****s get it right. Saturday morning in early for some more bonding with the team and then Saturday afternoon kick ****ing arse. If no player kicks arse then you are training with the children on Monday. Btw training next week will be 4 hours a day running up and down the terraces until you are half dead. Fuxking Saints make me so angry at the moment because nothing is simple.

Sad thing is he has to listen to Wilkins to get an opinion on who to play tonight. That's why the team will be the same as the last one. Can we win it? If nobody gets injured then NA can turn it around with some subs because he will spot the MK weakness. 0-0 @ 70 mins and the game is ours.

Sorry about the spelling, this IPhone has a mind of it's own. Btw as for Hoddle's training Gorman did it all while he would often watch in the centre of the pitch, he hardly spoke but when he did the players would be sat around him on the centre circle.

Hey Sue I'm sorry for letting you down on a first day training report as I took a holiday in Marbella instead so would anyone else :-) I saw WGS first, Pardews, Hoddles, and another two which escape me now. Referring too hard training, I remember WGS used to have a hell Wednesday as he make the players sprint to the half way line before jogging back and doing it again until they were blue in the face. I remember that only Walcott and Telfer used to be the best survivors. He used to practice the high ball one touch every session I saw too. Pardew used to like setting up matches and keep stopping play when he was not happy (so often) I also know that when he was not happy he would swear to the players alot. Seen Harding get screamed right in his face, a verbal of ****'s in his face at the start of this season's training, maybe threes the wrong way to get your point across? What is NA's style? I will find out soon no doubt :-)

I heard he does not have a plan B but a plan C instead. Wow this Nigel must eat 4 shedded wheats for breakfast. Seriously now, good managers have a Plan B but if you don't have a good bench then it's impossible to change anything. A plan B could also mean switch the two wingers but IMHO that's something any manager should do to keep the fullbacks guessing.

You have a better chance of ****ging Miss World than predicting this one. I will even throw in my 500k yacht if anyone gets the right day. PS bad thread idea CB.

Sorry to hear the sad news about your mum, met her just once and the passion she had for Saints was truly amazing back then. She will no doubt join the great army of Saints that will welcome her like we are one big family. RIP Valerie and Daren you will find the strength when the going gets tough as that's what mum's do even a million miles away.

I think we should let him settle this season so anything from relegation is a good result for us. Next season we should let him get the players he wants in to have a go at a playoff place maybe. Start of season 2012 he should have us settled and ready for the title of division one.
-
Welcome Nigel to the club. I hope you can do your job well and not be another Sturrock. Take no schitt from the players and get us playing the Southampton way pretty quickly please. Onwards and upwards.
-
It's very true we have the best team and when I return from the holiday I will put £50 on us to win this league. We need tweaking which starts with a manager that has a system he wants the players to work on and then we need options from the bench for plan B. I still think we will **** this league.

I'm on holiday at the moment and I've had a chance to view our forum. So let's get this right. We had 30 applications for the Saints Job and it's come down to someone called Adkins and Howe has turned us down after hearing that Adkins was offered it first. Was the other 28 applications from complete muppets then because I can't help thinking Howe and Adkins are the very bottom of the cheap option barrel. What the **** is wrong with this club? Show some balls with ambition please as I hate division one football.
-
Does it work or do you need to be a member to view it now? I'm going abroad on Tuesday and I'm sure it will be cheaper to view the forum rather than online with safari.
-
Adkins needs to resign first if Cortese has agreed to up his compensation to them. My money now is on MoN still but I have a feeling Cortese has kept this an amazing secret to reveal a surprise that will make some happy and others ****ed off.
-
Don't sit on her though as no poor lass deserves that weight. ;-)
-
Great point, but this manager must be allowed to have a say in who he wants because Harry Redcrap's only failure was us because he had his hands tied. Great managers do get results and bigger crowds though but they are not around very long as something better will come along.
-
Saints offer Scunny 350k but they want more. Maybe back to MoN then but he wants to run it his way. Who's next then Mr Cortese as we have another 48 applications to decide on. :-)
-
Tuesday at 1-30 after he has taken his first training session. Won't be MoN IMHO as he won't do it the Cortese way so it will be Atkins as he will resign tonight from Scunny.
-
Because he put in a transfer request which is why we had some Blackpool speculation BUT it's been withdrawn after Cortese solved his problem. Don't know what it was though..... apparently
-
When I'm 20,000 feet in the air not knowing who the **** it is until I land in Marbella.

This is a funny league we are in and it's so hard to predict some results. If we had a decent setup and some better options on the bench then it's a crime not to believe that we should go up as champions with the money we have spent. That's why the next appointment is make or break IMHO. Get a budget one in and the players might respond. Get a proven class manager and the players can only respond because it's a known fact that good managers get results.

Pretty!
