Totally agree. The FA should bring a rule in that all clubs must have 5 homegrown/English youngster starting a match. Then we will see England winning something for once. PS I know the FA won’t do anything because the champions league is more important to clubs.

Not bad teams but it’s lacking that fearful player that has teams running scared at the back. Promes, Mane, Sterling, Mbappe to name a few. Redmond is suppose to be that player but he scares nobody.

I reckon we are watching the situation regarding strikers that won’t feature in the first team of a premiership club. Step forward either Welbeck, Sturrridge or Giroud. Already Sturridge has had 45 minutes for Liverpool so maybe we had a scout watching?

Have we ever sold a player after one season? My thoughts are we will see a great improvement from him but next season we will struggle to hold on to him as we always do.

We don’t put all our eggs in one basket so let’s hope we have others in the pipeline.

Regarding our spend and received amounts etc... Most deals are done with installments so we probably have not had 50% of the VVD money, not paid up all of the Carillo money to Monaco and so on. I expect our next signing depends on those leaving the club as things are always tight.

Read somewhere that a Barca player said he was not interested in joining Everton yet until he found out if they want to retain him. Maybe we have put a bid in for Alacer but we are waiting for them to see what the plans are for Barcelona and the squad.

Thoughts so far after watching the full game. (1) Armstrong is going to be a good player for us (2) Need Vestergaard and Marlon at the back (3) Give Gabby a chance and he will score. (4) Austin is going downhill fast (5) Gallagher is a good option off the bench (6) Beginning to think Stephens is a major weak link

When you play two centre backs then you would need two back ups. I suppose playing with three means you need three back ups? I doubt anyone will be sold until January if some of our younger players start pushing for a squad place.

With Vestergaard rumoured to be having a medical it looks like a promising transfer window so far. Feels like what it was three years ago when we had players coming in and improving the team. I’m pretty sure Angus Gunn is going to come in as a back up keeper once they get Forster out on loan. Also now that Carillo is off the books will Alcacer be the icing on the cake? Still think we will have a back up right back or a starting one if Soares leaves. To date I will mark it 8/10 as Tadic could be badly missed.

Very true. It was interesting seeing 3 players on the floor struggling with injuries a minute before the extra time whistle went. Come Wednesday I think the keeper is a non starter plus one who has a suspension.

One is a midfielder and and the other is a CB. Maybe they have replaced already but IMHO (not gossip, just guess work) we are fishing for another deal elsewhere and using this as an expensive back up plan.
