I collected every programme and probably most ticket stubs too. Got them all in my Dads attic in a large suitcase. If this is the 8-2 game then I attended it Will plan to take a look when I pop down there next.

Great written piece and spot on. Problem is you can’t sell the average ones if nobody wants them? Forster is a fine example as nobody would touch him with a barge pole.

Watching Tadic captaining Ajax this evening in the champions league and it got me thinking. Why do players underperform for us? VVD in his last season was nothing like he is for Liverpool, Mane is in the same bracket. Lemina is going to be class when he leaves and I reckon JWP would become a England regular if he went to Spurs. My message is our club is stale from the owners, directors and managers and I would love an overhaul.

Ha ha that question will have to wait
-
Spot on....!!
-
If you answer the question properly then you set the next question and so on. Anyone can google an answer so try not to take that route. Which player joined Southampton from Sunderland to make-way for Kenwyne Jones moving in the other direction?
-
Thats shocking....!! I can’t even remember the game but then most of us can’t either because we are unforgettable these last few seasons.
-
When was the last time a top team tonked us? Only one I remember is Spurs at Wembley. I think teams relax against us as they want to save energy for the next game.
-
And 34 of those goals against came between the 87+ time which to me suggests they are not physically fit to last 90 minutes.
-
We will play well in spells and everyone will have hope. Then Liverpool will step up a gear or two and do just enough to win 2 nil.
-
Let’s remember our last three league wins. Bournemouth - Injury time save for a shot dipping into the corner. Swansea - Miracle save by McCarthy almost in injury time Ashe just turned it over. Palace - Just before Hojberg scores he saved point blank to save us. Our team really does panic and if it was not for McCarthy we would be winless in the last 16 odd games. Thats pretty crap!!
-
Why in the second half did we start pumping highs balls into the Brighton half? We shut out our wingbacks plus our two central midfielders. Puzzling to say the least.
-
If he’s not good enough for Real Madrid should he be good enough for us?
-
Heard the strikers have been banging the goals in training. I suppose it helps when McCarthy and Gunn have been away on international duty.

Think it’s sad that the amount of players called up in the England national and u21’s squad are not even playing first team games. How the hell can supporters get excited about our national team if we can’t create a homegrown rule of 6 players minimum per starting team. Reckon Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal would struggle to produce 6 between them.

Should we not rename this thread ‘SaintsWeb out’

Almost got my head taken off by a brick as I wore a long red and white hat and a inflatable fish on the top. Was walking up that long road to Fartton Park with the hellstones and Pompey fans trying to kill us. On police advice I took it off, thank god!

Just putting this one out there as it’s on my mind. (1) Sat in the archers when my season ticket mate told me about the guy in front of him. See that scar at the back of his head? That’s me celebrating and my two front teeth planted straight into the back of him (funny as f**k) (2) In the archers before a game as this Harry Potter lookalike got his glasses taken off with a vicious shot that hit him straight in the face. He reported it and got his glasses repaired. (3) My worse injury happened outside the game as I was walking to the match and singing to some scousers. My mates words were ‘Hey err, watch ......!! BANG. (I walked straight into a lamppost which knocked me out) (4) Last ever game at the dell as I went to the very top of the stadium where the floodlights are and when coming down I had to make a small jump but my plastic bag which was carrying some memorabilia I found up there followed through and smacked me on top of the head which left me lying there with blood running down my face

Live on the memories m8, especially when Le Tiss was banging them in from all angles.
-
Armchair - 100% Lambert for England, I screamed the bloody house down. The Armstrong one was class too as he just burst through and slammed home the winner. I was going crazy in the chocolate boxes.

As we have a boring International break it’s nice to think of the good things in the past. (1) Le Tissier vs Arsenal in the last game at the dell. What a strike and a fantastic pitch invasion too. (2) Pahars vs Everton in the great escape. That was a relief and an amazing atmosphere that day. (3) Gabby’s equaliser vs Utd at Wembley as the noise was electric afterwards. (4) Crouch last minute penalty vs the skates. Think I sang Harry and Jim for a fortnight. (5) The Channon wonder goal where it was ping pong through a good Liverpool side. The one goal I wished I was there but was too young - Stokes at Wembley, Never gave us a chance but we rolled them over

Could Hughes get half of what Pellegrino got?

Can he play centerback?

Seems like we win more away in the cups and the league than we do at home? Is this because our fans get on the players backs at home or is it because the away supporters are drowning out our very own and the players are not feeling the support from the terraces? I personally think we play a different system where we get hit on the break too often as we feel it's our duty to push for goals urgently. Thoughts?
