Tbh it's a perfect demonstration of how f*cking deluded they are. If they were to rent another ground it would be at Havant or Gosport, not an international sporting venue.
-
I've long thought that street food vendors outside St Mary's would be a great thing - offering more than just your standard dodgy burger wagon fare. I don't know how the club manage it but if it were me I'd be charging for the pitch and letting them get on with it. Supply and demand would sort out the popular from the less popular. It's impossible to know beforehand what fans would want - at the moment it's only burgers, hotdogs and chips type fare so they don't have the choice but I dare say quite a few would plump for something different if it were offered

By 48% fan owned I presume you mean the few rich individuals who own shares in the trust and also claim to be fans? The rest were just donors I believe Also: it's interesting to watch the few cautious voices of realism creeping in just lately. I wonder how long it will be before the deludedest turn on them? Also laughed quite hard at the 'build a state of the art modern stadium with shops and everything because we can get the government to pay for that' Anything to get one up on us. (Which is what put them in this mess to begin with tbh) Just a tin pot club in a city going downhill they would be better off looking at what Eastleigh are planning - that would be more realistic for them going forward

I'm not surprised they don't mention the rosy cheeked urchins- they just came in the bottom quarter for GCSE results. Not only that Portsmouth ranked amongst the lowest in the region for takeaway cleanliness. I had a job delivering milk there in the early noughties - it was a sh*thole then. The place has only gone backwards.

No that sounds like a good idea, after all it can't be easy for them with the current stadium. It definitely needs a refit - door handles designed for people with 6 fingers, special 'family ticket' seats so your mother, brother, uncle, cousin and niece doesn't have to try and spread himself over 4 seats, fat disposal chutes etc......
-
This appears to be causing you some anguish so I am going to propose a solution: create your own version of the Yellow Wall. Get organised, speak to the club, get a block put aside for yourself and like minded fans, only wear red and white and make sure everyone sitting there takes part and sings some proper songs. Don't sit on an Internet forum and cry about it, DO something.

I tell you what, if that happens the home fixture at the silverlake will be like the end of days. They will pull this out of the bag though.... Won't they? Guys?...... Guys?
-
Is that what happened to Lovren? AAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Ahem..... Sorry, sometimes I just crack myself up
-
This season just gets better and better. If they miss out on the playoffs the meltdown is going to be epic. There won't be a corner in Southsea that won't have a toy thrown into it

Was that before or after Maradona agreed to be their football ambassador?

There's a bit of a theme with the 'your son is a nonce' stuff. It was spread over about 8 of the threads there - clearly a couple of skates having issues with each other. I'm still very amused by the Barcelona references, it just shows how monumentally deluded they are. What I don't get though is that just seems to be the skates, the bindippers and plastic Man U fans who are like this. I've never met fans of any other club who have this unjustified sense of self entitlement. Or at least not to such a high level
-
Putting a mic on the ref would help, the abuse players would get from fans if what they were saying was broadcast would soon stop it. However, as long as football refs allow players to get away with it it will continue
-
Hold on we gave a winner Barcelona..... Really........
-
Let's be honest, it was a good piece of possession play. But if you watch what Bournemouth are doing, they aren't exactly chasing the ball, more sitting back and waiting for the skates to do something with it. It's not really that special. Just the last couple of passes really contribute to the goal, nothing else. However you find your myths where you can
-
Hilarious. It's that mix of self righteous delusion and indignant 'this couldn't possibly be happening to us' which shows absolutely no signs of abating. Just a small club on the south coast who were second fiddle from the '60's right up until the '00's when they had a brief fling in the top flight which they only managed by trying to avoid the bills from all and sundry. They only managed 7seasons before it all fell down round their ears, anyone would think they had a pedigree like ours in the top flight they way they carry on. Some of the comments on POL are just unreal - best one so far is 'a lot of people have money invested in the club' NO YOU DON'T IT WAS A DONATION
-
One game at a time, aiming for three points from each.
-
Having seen it on MOTD again, definite yellow, only a red because of player reaction influencing the ref. Club need to decide wether they can live without Wanyama for the next 5 matches or not. Victor simply must learn to control himself better - did he have this issue at previous clubs? Only other thing I can say is that if you commit to a tackle like that you need to make sure you get the ball, possibly an unfortunate bounce meant he missed it. Had he got the ball I think clattenburg would have been hard pushed to give a red
-
That'll do. I don't care how we do it as long as we go home with 3 points. I'll reserve judgement on Wanyama until I've seen it
-
HOLD ON FFS
-
Can we PAY Arsenal/Tottenham to take Wanyama away from us?

Yet another quality +1 thread. -
I had Solent on in the background while I was building some models this afternoon, a few things I picked up: 1) best support ever? The ground was really quiet except for the incessant noise coming from TCWTB 2) one comment I picked up was that the skates need to WIN something like 13 of their remaining matches this season to achieve something - can't member if that's achieve automatic promotion or to stay in the playoff places. If it's to get into the automatic slots then I think it's safe to say that's not going to happen. Tbh with their current run of form I can see them just missing out on playoffs.....

BEANS!

That reminds me.... I must ask the next skate I meet how the 'shaping of the future' is coming along. I wonder if that should be placed firmly next to 'ripping up league two'

Saints v West Ham Build Up - Game now Saturday 6th Feb 1730
Mr Biscuits replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Anyone else getting very tired of hearing West Ham bleat on about how they could have signed Austin? Sounds like nothing more than sour grapes to me -
Don't you go and try to prove things with FACTS. Mere physical numbers mean nothing because MORALLY the skates always take more away fans than anyone else.
