  1. Makes ya wonder doesn't it? Before the Liverpool game there were comments going around about Saints being refereed out of the CL places and then there was 'that' display by Kevin Friend. I'm sure I wasn't the only person watching with a sceptical eye. Add the corruption and collusion by FIFA over the world cup farce and we all know it's to do with money, maybe it isn't so far fetched after all. A lot of money is at stake, some of it in brown paper bags......
  2. Just when you think you can't dislike someone any more.....
  3. This. The two above mentioned teams are given more chance of a European place than Saints by the media and a section of our own fans yet we are above them on merit. It's how Koeman and the team around him deal with this apparent slump in form and raise the team for the run in. There are goals in the team, we are too afraid to go for them at the moment for whatever reason.
  4. More worryingly, when are we going to score from a free kick, corner or whatever? I genuinely can't remember the last time. Why are we so ineffective from set pieces?
  5. Every time he opens his mouth he proves what an odious little turd he really is. Why doesn't he question Southampton press release people who gave Rickie Lambert a full page fond farewell yet barely managed two lines each for Lallana and Lovren. That reveals a lot about his little superstars and their behaviour towards Southampton FC. He also forgets the disrespect shown to Southampton by those two making comments and statements about how much they want to be at Liverpool while forgetting they, at the time, were contracted to Southampton.
  6. Here's Rodgers take on things..... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-2964270/Liverpool-manager-Brendan-Rodgers-disappointed-Southampton-fans-booing-Adam-Lallana-St-Mary-s-return.html
  7. What a shocker. Poor performance, poor refereeing. Refereeing decisions aside, you have to make your own luck and not rely on decisions going your way and Southampton haven't done it plain and simple.
  8. From BBC site: 'Tottenham have now rescued 16 points from losing positions this season. Too many times to be down to luck. Or is it?'.
  9. Hope it strikes again this afternoon.....

    "Stonewall"

The thing that I absolutely detest is when commentators use words like 'delicious' to describe a cross or good pass. In fact the guy doing Swansea/Utd for 5Live used the phrase "succulent delivery" when reviewing the first half. Wtf is a "succulent delivery"? Completely cringeworthy.
  11. We do but all we have is a Half a Northam End.
  12. I think the main problem is the lack of a song going all around the ground for a decent amount of time. It's okay the Northam crew starting off but it fizzles out by the time it reaches Chapel. If there was a way to create an intimidating wall of noise before the players come out and during the game like the German fans seem to do it would be great but our polite ripples of applause don't seem to do it. I guess it comes down to the seating arrangements as discussed in another thread but the PA people need to ramp it up a bit to get the atmosphere going.
  13. Exactly. Every game without a goal is a game closer to him scoring again. I realise optimism is bad form and frowned upon on Saintsweb so my apologies in advance.
  14. Thank you for the suggestions. I have to travel from Somerset so will need to get in and parked without the luxury of much time. Hopefully the East St multi might have a few spaces at around 18:00 ish.
  15. Good for him and the team! Was dreading seeing Pochettino's smug face holding it.
  16. Many thanks!
  17. As an aside but vaguely traffic related, where's the best place to park for an evening match? I'm determined to bring my daughter to a match under the floodlights but I guess West Quay shuts at some point in the evening?
  18. At the end of the day you can look at it as one point gained or two points lost. We're one point behind United, still ahead of Arsenal and three points ahead of Spurs with a vastly superior goal difference. We have gotten used to winning matches easily and been sucked into a false sense of entitlement because of this. There will be battling wins, poor losses and frustrating draws, it's part of the game but we're still in the top four, we don't expect to lose many of our remaining matches and can also expect the teams around us to drop points also, especially with Cup and European commitments for many of them. We have some key players coming back to the squad from injury or in Bertrand's case suspension. If we get seven points from the next nine available (not beyond the realms of possibility) it will be good again. United can't keep winning poorly forever and will get found out. Liverpool have to play two teams that are above them in their next three matches. Arsenal have some easier matches but good runs of form always come to an end eventually, the same with Spurs. It 'aint over until it's over and matches always throw up some surprise results. Some will work in our favour, some won't but we're in a good position, have a healthy goal difference and as I mentioned, key players to come back, some time to rest and regroup while our rivals are still playing. It's almost guaranteed we'll get European football of some description and even if we end up in the Europa cup, that is no mean feat for a team on it's third year back in the Premier League and we shouldn't view it as a failure.
  19. I think the frustration is because we all know what he can do but isn't doing it now. Comparisons to Worthington are fine but Pelle's form at the start was excellent but now he's dropped it for whatever reason and the goals from other positions have gone again bar Mane's contribution over the last few matches. No Cork or Schneiderlin adding the odd goal here and there. Can't remember the last time we scored from a set piece from a Fonte or Yoshida header. Perhaps not fair to give him stick but maybe frustration is justified?
  20. I think that's what most are worried about.........
  21. Fed up, frustrated, annoyed and slightly concerned the free flowing, free scoring form of the first part of the season has dried up and been replaced with form that requires the ball to be walked into the net. What happened to the free flowing and free scoring form of the early season? It can't all be down to the opposition figuring out how to play against us. Too much reliance on Mane and a single goal winner in recent weeks. Something needs to change and confidence in front of goal should be right up there as a priority.
  22. Millions, billions - whatever. What I'm concerned about is whether my Elite subscription to SportsnationHD will go up to £4.10 a month?
  23. A Spurs win? Not sure I agree there. Surely the best scenario is for the teams below us to drop points. In this case a draw should suit us best or a Liverpool win being as they're even further behind Spurs. The last five games show Saints and Spurs having the best form. One defeat and four wins each. This is the best in the league. No other team has had that good a run. Spurs need to start dropping points to give us a better cushion.

  25. Pelle seems to have had an opposition player attached to his hip over his goal scoring drought. I wonder with Elia and Mane in the team and with their pace and apparent goal scoring form whether opposing teams might concentrate more effort in nullifying their threat and therefore free Pelle up to gain more scoring opportunities?
