He's dreadful. His first half performance at home to Arsenal last season was shockingly bad.

Have we been unlucky with ref/VAR decisions in the previous 4 games.

Pretty sure the rules state (or did state at one point) that if the ball ricochet's off a body part onto the arm/hand then it can't be given as a penalty. -
Another total non event that involves West Ham.

Position that you would most want to improve in the starting XI

Left back and a striker. -
Bertrand is pretty average these days, isn't he? Our left hand side looks so blunt compared to the right.
-
Looks like we've gone back to a game plan where by we're looking to draw games rather than win them. Disappointing considering Fulham and West Ham are poor sides who concede goals.
-
Agree with a lot of this but not with Djenepo not being able to defend - it's an area of his game which he has improved massively. Arguably he has actually regressed going forwards!
-
Agreed. Adams is a very good football player, but doesn't have the finishing ability of Ings. Although we won't sign another player as good as Ings, we do need a viable option to replace him when needed. Long & Obafemi aren't good enough, Walcott can do a job for a game or two but nothing more and Tella/N'Lundulu have potential but nothing more than that. I think we will get a full back in January and then a striker should be the priority in the summer.
-
I'd probably put Walcott back upfront with Adams. Praying that Antonio isn't fit enough yet. Stephens has struggled against him in the last couple of seasons. Would like to see us really go for this one - we've got a tough looking January coming up so 3 points here would be very welcome.
-
I don't think Reed was that good at all, certainly no better than Diallo. Anguissa on the other hand... He looks a proper player.
-
Cheers. I'd imagine we might see Ings vs Leicester then.
-
Has Ralph said anything about Ings?
-
Exactly. As important as it is to be able to bring the ball out from the back and play an extravagant pass, I'm sure we'd all prefer to see a centre back who can actually defend competently. Stephens had a purple patch when the league resumed after lockdown in June but before that and whenever he's played this season, he's made basic defensive errors. People who know about football have said some very good things about Salisu - give him the chance to prove it.
-
Sounds like we are prioritising renewing contracts in January rather than making signings. Although Ralph did hint that if we did do anything it would be a loan with an option to buy. I guess Brandon Williams might fit into that category.
-
I phoned last Tuesday and was told my refunds were being processed. I still hadn't received them earlier today so called again and they refunded me over the phone. Give them another call.
-
Will we finally see Salisu? I wouldn't risk Vestergaard if he has a dodgy knee. I'd be surprised if Armstrong wasn't available though.
-
He's understandably lost his pace but when he does get forward he can't get seem to get back. Personally I wouldn't offer him a new deal. We should prioritise a new left back in January and a winger in the summer.
-
McCarthy, KWP, Bednarek, Vestergaard, Bertrand, Diallo, JWP, Armstrong, Djenepo, Walcott, Adams. Subs: Forster, Salisu, Stephens, Vokins, Smallbone, Redmond, Tella, Long, N'Lundulu
-
I'd bring Redmond in for Armstrong. He was generally awful last night and clearly needs a rest.
-
Apart from not fouling Saka!
-
As weird as it sounds, that's definitely 2 points dropped. We seemed to lack a bit of belief and bravery on the ball after they went down to 10, almost as if we were a bit scared to lose the game. Ohwell if we get something on Saturday it won't be the worst result in the world.
-
Yes we are playing in our away kit.
-
Agreed. On the basis that Long and Obafemi are likely to either leave or not feature next season that leaves us with 3 strikers, one being a relatively unproven but promising youngster and another being a player that could well be leaving soon.
-
Ings clearly rusty after the injury. Good job Che Adams looks anything but - another top class performance from him.
-
They aren't bad in the middle of the park but other than that it's a distinctly average side and one we should be beating comfortably.
