Putting it out there but Downes is definitely the best CDM in the league. I'm shocked West Ham didn't give him more of a chance last season.

What a game. Thought we were superb. Need that sort of commitment in the final and we will be alright!

Judging from Martins comments I think he'll be on the bench. Give Stewart 60 mins then bring Che on.

Rowe started well but has been pretty poor since January by all accounts. Sounds like he has a big attitude problem.

Direct attacking football. I just hope we don't come out tomorrow and pass it around at the back for the first 5 minutes and dampen the crowd.

I think the general consensus from those of us that were there was that it's a decent result and a solid enough away performance. At the end of the day West Brom have a very good home record and they didn't cause us many problems apart from those first 15 minutes.

Yep and to be fair the whole team were crap in that away game at Watford.

The West Brom fans really got behind their side yesterday. I can just see it now, one dodgy pass from McCarthy in the first minute and our fans will be on the players backs. Can't be doing that in this sort of game, need to be singing and encouraging for 90 minutes. At least there's a fair few people getting to the game early to welcome the team into the stadium. Can't wait for it.

It worked against Leeds and to an extent yesterday but I really don't like Manning and Stephens playing next to each other. One can't defend and the other can't pass. Not the best combo. To be fair we played well with 4 at the back both times against West Brom in the league. Hopefully the players motivation is a bit higher now than it was towards the latter part of the season...

Agree with this apart from Stephens. Gave it away so many times and just seems to be a few seconds behind everyone else on the pitch. He needlessly dallies on the ball which puts himself in trouble. It cost us a goal against Leeds last week and almost cost us another today.

Both were poor. Bednarek was the best of the back 3 by a mile and saved us on a fair few occasions.

Not sure if you're referring to Onuachu or Mara but I've seen nothing from either player to suggest they are "clinical". Onuachu has scored goals in Turkey but they are all from crosses, something we don't tend to do, as Saint Clark said. The difference between Adams and Mara is, even if Adams isn't scoring he helps others to score. If Mara isn't scoring he doesn't do a thing.

I'd go back to 4 at the back for the home game. McCarthy, KWP, THB, Bednarek, Manning, Downes, Aribo, Smallbone, Fraser, AA, Adams/Stewart. Guaranteed Stephens will play though.

As has been proven every time he doesn't play. Some people just can't support the guy because he isn't a natural finisher. He's a very good championship player that has always tried his best for us. On the other hand you have guys like Mara and Sulemena who have never broken out of a jog.

Mara has played too many games for us for my liking. Absolutely terrible player. We need to move him on ASAP.

Sulemenas effort off the ball is appalling. I consciously watched him after he came on against Leeds and his pressing was so poor. Mara no better either.

I'd stick Stewart up top for 60 mins. Simply cannot start Mara in such an important game. And we know AA is useless upfront.

Moyes gone but can see West Ham wanting to move Downes on regardless. Their fans are expecting big signings in the summer.

Does Martin revert to 4 at the back with Stephens at LB that did so well previously at West Brom or stick with 3 at the back? Personally I'd stick to what we went with today, you need to be solid in these play off games and personally think that system suits what we have down to a tee.

I would rather have Fraser at LWB than Manning. Adds more going forwards and on that showing actually defended better than Manning has all season!

Shame he's only shown flexibility in two games this season.

Looked a lot more solid with 3 at the back. AA and Adams linked up well. Hope Adams is ok.

Can only help us really. If Ipswich score an early goal against Huddersfield then the atmosphere will be very flat.
