Agreed. My views on AA are well known but I certainly can't fault him for a lack of effort. THB, Downes, Manning, probably Stephens. Can't stand any of them.

Absolutely no downsides to this news. I'd imagine they've finally realised there's a lack of leadership and obviously we are light in that position anyway. As others have mentioned, before this season he's been playing regularly in La Liga and he seems the kinda guy to keep himself in top shape. We should've signed Fonte as well when we had the chance.
