It's really indefensible. He literally could have played it anywhere but there. That was literally the only player in shot that was marked up. Lumley Vs Forest surely.
-
Let's be honest, there is no one to blame but the club themselves. They've given a terrible keeper a new two year deal and made him number 1, with no obvious signs of us buying a new keeper any time soon. What an utter shit show.
-
I'd much prefer Taylor or Edwards there if I'm honest. I like Stephens as a leader, but that's where it ends.
-
We've really been missing a tall, strong, athletic CM player for some time.
-
He was trying to earn that new contract he was after. Now he's got it he can take his foot off the pedal again.
-
I'd just like to see a decent performance - show some encouraging signs, no giving up etc. A loss is expected but no one wants to start the season with a heavy defeat.
-
Hopefully we are now putting our efforts into the O'Riley deal. If we do manage to sign him and a keeper on loan (Johnstone/Ramsdale) then I'll certainly be more confident this season. Another winger would be a bonus.
-
He is quick but the attackers who do well in Premier League also have power, which he has none of. His decision making is also horrendous.
-
If Onuachu and Mara go then all we'd have is Archer and Stewart (not sure you can even count him myself) Although Martin will include AA and BBD in that even though they aren't out and out strikers. For some reason he seems like "flexible players" who can play across all 3 front positions. In reality I agree, we need a pure number 9.

I'm getting the train up later this afternoon. I normally drive it but done a fair few lengthy car journeys lately so another one all the way up there wasn't worth thinking about.
-
What we need now is someone to supply him. Still hoping we can somehow raise the funds for O'Riley. Getting £20m in for Mara and ABK will be a big help though.
-
My Sheffield United supporting mate reckons both Archer and BBD are decent signings for us and were two of their better players last season (not hard I know)
-
I like how he puts "understand" he's literally just taken that from Ornstein.
-
We literally are the next Sheffield United.
-
He's perfect for us then. He'll pass a medical here with a broken hand.
-
On paper that team isn't too bad defensively (minus the keeper).. it's those further forward 2 or 3 positions that really need sorting.
-
Source?
-
Doesn't Lallana have a heart problem?
-
He's staying on as a Valencia player this season and they are loaning him to Bournemouth. Liverpool are signing him permanently at the end of the season.. that's the way round it.
-
Honestly the scouting since 2016 has been largely dreadful. We get the odd player who does well and enables us to sell them on for a decent profit but these days it seems like we are just accepting losses left, right and centre.
-
It's because there were so many people slagging him off in the replies. If you can't take it, then don't post it in the first place.
-
Imagine now after the ABK news we may have to accept a lower offer for Alcaraz.
-
You're right, the amount of time and space he gets is nothing like he will in the premier league but he does have something about him. I think our asking price is around €10m and I certainly wouldn't be selling him for less than that given what we paid for him but also the fact he's a prolific scorer in these lesser foreign leagues.
-
Personally think our price tag is too high for him. No doubt we will realise this at the end of the window where we have to accept a lower offer then have no time to re-invest the funds.
-
Man City were looking at him to potentially be their number 2 when they thought Ederson was going to leave. Now he's staying I doubt they are interested. He was linked with Man Utd back in May and that doesn't seem to have come to anything. As you say having played the second half of the season for Lazio he's probably got a taste of being a number 1.
