Watching MOTD and seeing West Ham, Fulham and obviously Forest yesterday all playing quick, slightly more direct football and getting a lot of joy from it. Then there's us passing the ball around struggling to get out of our own 18 yard box.

My problem is RM is constantly trying to be too clever for his own good. We had it last season with the inverted full backs and now it's the strikers hugging the touchline with no threat through the middle.

Just watching the Brighton highlights from yesterday. The amount of bodies they seem to get in the opposition box compared to us is ridiculous.

Agree. Sounds very sensible to me. I'd be much more worried about what we are going to do in regards to the attacking positions.

He's proven his style can get us out of the championship (just about). The jury is well and truly out as to whether it can keep us up though. The early signs are not good at all though.

Let's be honest, we are going to have one hell of a team to win the championship next season.

Is the lack of creativity down to personnel or the tactics? I'd say a bit of both, which is a huge problem.

Dibling, Fernandes and Archer all looked pretty decent when they came on. AA, Smallbone, Aribo, Stephens all need replacing IMO.

After seeing that, we badly need a right winger and a striker. Can't see us getting them though.

Armstrong looks exactly like he did last time we were in the Prem. Massively out of his depth.

It won't take much for Lesley, Fernandes and Archer to get into the side tbh.

Forest all over us in terms of quality and physicality at the moment. Defence is nervous, midfield looks lightweight and very poor upfront.

Only one team is going to win this game the way things are going. We aren't good enough/clever enough to beat their press at the moment.

I was thinking 4 at the back too but our wing backs were so good against Newcastle, so can see why he'd keep it the same.

Going from RM's pre match press conference it sounds like Lesley needs to do a fair bit of learning where as Fernandes might be a bit more familiar with the style of play. RM did reference how important the number 6 role is so it would be more risky to throw Lesley into it early on (not that he'd start over Downes anyway unless RM wanted to go with two CDM's in certain games).
