A 10, a winger, a striker and a keeper. That's the bare minimum needed. I'd like to see a proper defensive midfielder too.
-
He was more than good enough in our first two matches. Poor today like a lot of them. I'm more worried about Downes who looks like e league two player at the moment.
-
Anyone else think Fernandes may push for a move this week? Thought his body language was very poor today and he looked way off it.
-
We've still got a lot of the donkeys who were absolutely shite last season. We need at least 3-4 players to come into this side and improve us.
-
Downes is crap
-
He needs to change this formation and get Armstrong off. So blunt going forwards.
-
I keep seeing this but why can't Fraser play on the right and Robinson on the left? Surely Robinson plays on the left in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 even once we've signed a new winger or two?
-
I'm fairly sure our wage bill will be a fair bit lower this time around.
-
"I'd rather lose playing this way than win playing a different style" Utterly ridiculous and showed complete disregard for the club and fans.
-
I must admit it doesn't really feel like him leaving has really weakened us in the sense that he hasn't shown up since December. Even before that, he was a bit inconsistent (to be expected at that age). However if Fernandes goes, it leaves a huge hole.
-
I do agree to an extent but if we play a back 4 he doesn't get in at the moment. As much as I'm not a fan of Stephens he's probably been our best CB so far.
-
Agreed. He's pretty average really. Looked totally lost in that game.
-
Tbh you can easily play a 4-2-3-1. Charles and Downes in CM. Fraser, Fernandes and Robinson the 3 and one of Stewart or Downs up top. Just because we don't have the right winger we want, doesn't mean we should be playing 5 at the back at home to Stoke.
-
Yep, we still have to expect Fernandes to leave. If he stays then great. If he does go then jesus there's a lot of work to be done before the end of the window.
-
It might be higher but there's no way they will pay close to £50m
-
Apparently he's really quick which is good because I feel our side has a lack of pace in general.
-
I do think people expect a bit too much. It's always going to be hard to recruit Premier League quality players in this division. We've just finished as the second worst premier league side ever ffs. Sign the best Championship players, get promoted again but then improve upon them once promoted. That's what we didn't do last time.
-
Yep, just what I was thinking.
-
Edwards can play there but Bree is due back in training next week. The club would get more money for selling Sugawara as well so I very much doubt Bree will be going anywhere. Edit - just realized Bree is out of contract at the end of the season. Wonder if the club will actually try and move him on now or just keep him as back up and run down his contract.
-
General consensus among Brentford fans so far is that he works hard and will be decent at this level but struggled in the Premier League.
-
Indeed. Why would we keep bidding if we knew the player wasn't interested. Anyway the agent has come out and said the player wants the move.
-
I'm fairly sure that account gets his information from an Armenian journalist.
-
Hang on, the same account said his release clause is €15m. If true, our offer matches that?
-
That was 14 million euros.
