Absolutely no downsides to this news. I'd imagine they've finally realised there's a lack of leadership and obviously we are light in that position anyway. As others have mentioned, before this season he's been playing regularly in La Liga and he seems the kinda guy to keep himself in top shape. We should've signed Fonte as well when we had the chance.

I was the same. I don't think he suits managing a side who are expected to have more of the ball. His in game management has been very questionable and doesn't seem like the leader we really need. I do feel for him a bit. He was let down in the window in terms of no striker coming in but either way we should have more points than this.

He jumps out the way or ducks when the ball is coming towards him in the air and won't get into any physical battles. That definitely isn't confidence. That's just called being a pussy.
